Get Jerked

"Upon walking in there was ONE table being used and the rest were empty BUT DIRTY. We asked for our table to be cleaned and she came out to clean every table BUT OURS. so we had to ask again. We spent over $90 + tip (bc my mom likes to tip but I honestly don't feel like we should have left one and I'll continue to explain why). On 3 plates and we were not very happy about the portion size nor the overall food. We all ordered the oxtail and jerk chicken combo. It comes with one side(ill also post pics) and rice and "beans". The rice and beans where hard and crunchy like it was not cooked. The Cabbage we not tasty at all and she was scrapping what seemed like the bottom to give it to us. They make you come and get your good from the counter instead of bringing it to your table. The meat was pretty good just wish my chicken was butchered down to mini pieces. I'll stick to jerk unlimited and My maria from now own. We just wanted to try something new and was very disappointed."

"I was so excited to try this place. I had got the jerk pasta, oxtails with rice, greens & Mack & cheese. The pasta was so nasty I couldn’t eat it. It had no flavor. The oxtails was very very fatty. Nothing but fat on it. The rice was good I liked it. The greens was nasty they was sweet which was weird. & the Mac & cheese i threw it away. & the price was over $50 which was very expensive compared to other Jamaican places I’ve been to. I think the food is already made they just warm it up in the microwave cause it kinda tasted like left overs. I’m just so disappointed cause I really wanted to like this place."

"Look, I can't tell you what authentic Jamaican cuisine should be, I'm an old middle class suburban guy who rarely leaves St. Louis. My best guess is that this is quite "authentic". I mean, you could hear him chopping through chicken bones in the back. That's gotta count, right? What really matters is that it's freaking delicious. Jerk chicken, curry chicken, rice and peas, cabbage. All quite tasty. And oh man, those collard greens. I had no idea how good greens taste with some sweetness to them. There's real white sugar in that sauce. Oh and try a pineapple ginger beer. Nice folks behind the counter, too."

"I ordered a small portion of oxtail with white rice and enjoyed it. The oxtails were cooked to perfection: juicy and fall off the bone. The stew was flavorful and a little bit spicy, but a little too liquid (more like a soup than a stew). Portion sizes are small for the price, but I am assuming the rent is very expensive due to the excellent location and that it reflects on the food prices. I dined in and did not like that my food was served in a recycled to-go food container rather than a plate. The restaurant is clean, spacious, and simply decorated. The server was nice and attentive."
