"Did not have a good experience here with the manager. I came in around 8 PM on Oct 28th to purchase a very specific shade of foundation for my halloween makeup along with a few other things. The checkout girl at the counter was nice but she forgot to bag my foundation. I did not realize this until I got to my house. I searched everywhere for it for 30 minutes thinking I dropped it out of the bag somewhere. Finally my husband told me to call the store and just check and see if it got left there. I called right before closing at 8:56 PM, not really thinking it got left there. The manager answered the phone, I told her my name and the situation and was very specific about the brand of foundation I purchased. You can tell she didn't want to help me, she told me that if anything got left behind they probably would have put it back. Not eager to help at all. I proceeded to tell her I was just there and she asked what shade it was. I told her I don't have the receipt on me at that very second but it was the lightest shade in the brand. Then miraculously, she found the foundation and said, oh yeah some lady purchased it and it got left behind (Yes, that's me I'm that lady). This baffled me, how did you not connect the dots when I first told you the brand. She told me I could come back tomorrow to get it since they are closing and she would be able to look up the receipt if I didn't have it anymore. This was frustrating for 1, I specifically bought this foundation for a halloween party I was attending that night and 2, there was no apology for the inconvenience. Instead, I was the inconvenience and would have to come back at a more convenient time to pick this up. Fast forward, the next day I had to run errands and forgot about this whole ordeal until I was out running around and remembered I needed to stop by and it was either now or in 3 days when I'd be able to make it back that way. I thought I could stop by and maybe grab it without my receipt and just use my debit card that I used. I went in and told the manager who I was and I'm here for the foundation. I told her I did not have the receipt but I have the debit card I used to purchase. She told me she couldn't look it up that way. I told her I also didn't use my loyalty points when I purchased it. She looked at me like I was stupid for not using my loyalty points as if I knew it would all play out like this. Her mannerism was awful and she wasnt inclined to help. She said she did not get a chance to watch the tapes and see what happened last night so she wouldn't be able to give me the foundation without the receipt. At this point, I'm frustrated as hell because again, NO APOLOGY at all. She could have offered to go review the tapes or at the least have said I'm very sorry for the inconvenience please come back with the receipt, we will hold it for you as long as you need until you can come back in. Instead, she offered no options. I'm frustrated, I said, "look I purchased this foundation and you guys are the one who forgot to put it in the bag." She quickly realized that I was upset so she said she'd go in the back and look into it. She returned 5 min later and handed me the foundation. No apology, just "here you go, thanks". I left with the worst taste in my mouth. I don't understand how I had to become angry in order to be taken seriously. For me to leave feeling like I did for a mistake they made, is not right. Maybe it's because I'm a person of color but I was treated as if I was of low stature compared to her. Not pleased with this manager. Yes, I probably could have just asked if I can return in 3 days with the receipt and just inconvenience myself again but the manager was not apologetic or customer oriented towards the situation so yes, instead I stood up for myself. I'm tired of bad customer service. I worked customer service for 10 years and this ain't it. I guess this is what Ulta wants representing them. I'll be returning to return the foundation and that'll be the last time."
