"They were very busy when we visited. Got seated promptly, server was very nice AND efficient. I got a junior cheeseburger, it was still large. I would say 1/4 pound and plenty of fries to go with. It was delicious. Hubby ordered a Ruben, he said it was the best he'd had in a long time. Aside from being noisy (just lunch rush busy), it was fabulous. When we are in the area again, we will definitely stop by."
"Eight Alabama ladies spent the weekend in NOLA. We stopped in for lunch Friday on our way in town and for brunch Sunday on our way out. Oh my word, Southside Cafe never disappoints!! The food was outstanding!! We had the PRIVILEGE of being served by Sasha on Sunday and I can’t say enough good about her. The eight of us ordered, added to our order after being served and ordered meals to go for our families. Heck we even got the T-Shirt. Sasha didn’t miss a beat. WOW is all I can say!! My husband and I make the two hour trip often just to have an amazing lunch at Southside Cafe. I think you have seven other ladies that will start doing the same thing. Please give Sasha a pat on the back for a job very well done!! She certainly deserves it."
"We didn’t come here on purpose. We got lost & tumbled across it. So glad we got lost. This place is great! Cool atmosphere, friendly service & excellent food. I had the seafood gumbo & Jim had the Rubin sandwich. We finished with bread pudding. We didn’t come here intentionally but I’ll intentionally come back next time where out this way!"
"Southside Cafe is a well known and busy restaurant so you may experience wait times for seating during busy hours. The Food is heavy well seasoned Louisiana style. I ordered fried mushrooms and the Irish channel (seafood gumbo one side and chicken andouille on the opposite side with potato salad down the middle. It is crowded but service is fast and decent. The lighting is comfortable. Attire is casual or whatever you’re feeling. It’s legend and worth the visit. Would recommend if you’re in the area."
