"The view across China Creek was absolutely beautiful! These pictures were taken February 16th 2021 when the severe snow storms were all across the United States! I was wearing a light jacket and enjoying the sunshine."

"The beaches in Bandon are our favorites. This February trip we walked the beach near Face Rock and the next access point south. At Face Rock there are countless basalt rocks surrounded by tidal moats. We didn’t see sea stars or hermit crabs as we had down at Brookings, but we saw many California mussels and barnacles. There are a few holes clear through the base of massive basalt rocks. It was a couple hours away from low tide, and we could walk up to the holes but their floors were covered with water. One hole doesn’t go all they way through to the far side but it’s big enough to walk in and go back about 10’ or more. If you visit Face Rock in the spring I believe you will see the top of the larger rocks blanketed in baby puffins (or some other sea bird)."

"Beautiful Christmas light display starts Thanksgiving weekend. Being there before a storm makes for spectacular surf and great photo ops."
