"I started a new job that required relocation from Portland Oregon. The problem was I did not know where I was moving the company had two possible locations, Spokane Wa or Phx Az. I explained this to the Packrat agent as we set up a long distance move. We used phx as the default location since we had to pick one location to create a quote so logically we picked the further location to get the maximum cost for approval from my employer. So the plan was load up one pod and declutter the house. Then put the house on the market and when it sold have the second pod delivered and by then I should know where i am going. I had one pod delivered and loaded it up and I asked to have it stored locally because I still did not know if I was moving to Spokane or Phx. Put the house on the market a months later it sold. I called packrat and asked for the second pod to be delivered so i could pack the remaining item in the house. I now know my final destination so I tell the packrat agent I know where I am moving, Spokane Wa so lets setup a delivery date. They ask me for the zip and then proceed to tell me they do not service that area!!! So they had at least two opportunities to tell me, "hey you keep saying you may move to Spokane but guess what we don't service Spokane". Nope no one bothered to check and they blamed me for that, I guess I should know that their operators read from a script and if I don't have them explicitly check with a zip code they carry no blame. So now I have to pay them $500 to have the pod I already loaded brought back to my house so I can unload it. They charged the original drop off, then pick up to storage, then drop back off so i can unload it. Also If you like waiting online for 30 minutes to talk to someone this might be the company for you. I am not saying I am totally clean on this but nether are they. There only concern was coverings their own a$$ and putting all the blame on me. I should have known... Funny thing is I called U-Pack and gave them the same scenario I wanted to see what happened. First thing she did was check both my possible locations. No lie she said and I quote, "first let me check and make sure we service both those areas". I will never give 1-800-Packrat any of business again and I will certainly not recommend them. I should have checked yelp and consumer affairs before I gave them my business they are 2.2 stars on here and 1.6 on yelp. That's pretty bad wonder how much longer they will be in business?"

"Very disappointed! Hidden fees! We were quote and the charged me for gas fees and additional month and didnt get my deposit back because they said it was added to gas…quotes about 2,400 ended up paying 4,000!!! I used them before 3 years ago no problem. But this time ridiculous! Never using them again! They said its in their terms and conditions in the paperwork not the disclosure that was read to you. Beyond disappointed super sad i went back to them."

"We just moved to WI and decided to use Zippy Shell a subsidiary of Pack-Rat. 30 plus days from pickup (May 25th 2021 from Salem OR) we still don't have our three pods. Not very Zippy! Customer service is rude and would initially not give us a estimate on when we would get our items. After many calls they finally told us that they don't have a driver to deliver our pods! How can you have a moving company with no drivers? And to add to our issues our pods are still in Fairview OR! Do not use this company you may never get your items."
