"Took over my policy from a retiring agent. The premium on my home insurance policy renewal was 41% more than prior year. I called to question the increase and was told it was due to "claims this past year". When I said I didn't have any claims, I was then advised there was "also legislation". (no further explanation of legislation was offered) I told her I was going to take my business elsewhere. However the agency did not let it expire on the date stated on the policy. Instead they renewed it and billed me. When I called 3 weeks later I was told I owe for those 16 days and they have now sent me to collections. For $47.34 Today I called at 3:45pm and they hung up after connecting. When I immediately called back, it went into the after hours answering service. The only reason I give 1 star is because it is required to submit the post"
