"I just recently switched to Dr. Mosher and I am definitely loving the direct primary care model! Yes, there is a monthly charge for direct primary care, but it includes a large number of procedures that Dr. Mosher can do in the office (things like stitches and other wound care, EKGs, bedside ultrasounds, and more), and you essentially never have to go to an urgent care again. And unlike almost any other primary care doctor, you always have his contact info for emergencies and you can almost always get seen same day or next day. He also has relationships with local labs and imaging centers to get services performed significantly cheaper than what you’d typically pay. When you do see Dr. Mosher, he actually takes the time to listen to you! Without direct primary care, doctors are forced to fit as many people in as possible, and it’s now common to be pushed out the door after 10 or 15 minutes (or less). However, my initial visit was over an hour, and I’m a healthy guy. When my wife had a medical question, he made an appointment to call her back the same day and spent the time to answer all of her questions (she didn’t want to go in the office due to COVID, although she could have had a same day office visit if she wanted). When you go, you also actually get to see the doctor, not an NP or PA. If you want a doctor that you can actually get in to see when you need to, and then actually cares about you when you get there, I’d highly recommend giving Dr. Mosher and direct primary care a try. This is how primary care should be."
