Reviews
"We had no plans of stopping here originally but after a road detour stopped to honestly ask directions. SO glad we did. The ladies at the front (so disappointed I didn’t take their names) were extremely helpful. They gave us the traffic update of the road closure, food and sightseeing recommendations in the area. The center itself was so fascinating with so much to do - my kids loved the interactive displays, had a blast stretching their legs on the paths, and learned about the Tillamook fire at the center short film. I’m so happy that we took the detour because it has definitely been one of the highlight happy adventures of our trip so far. Highly recommend a stop!"
"This is a beautiful place to learn more about the Tillamook Forest and the history of this area. Unfortunately it is only open for limited hours. The museum is free with a suggested $5 donation. Most of it is handicapped accessible, except for the lookout tower. There is a footbridge across the Wilson river here and limited access to the river."
"We drove all the way out here, Google said it was open, it was not. Parked aways down the way and walked in the back way. We were able to access the bridge and the trail to it, but that was it. I would call before you make the drive out. Disappointed."
"Nice, quiet, educational. I liked the reserved manner of the overall presentation in the Center. You can learn a lot, it’s quite engaging too. Steam donkey is impressive! I wish I had more time to explore the trails around the center. Highly recommended to visit"
"The Tillamook Forest Center opened a few weeks ago after 3 years of closure. We’ve passed this way many times an didn’t think to stop by then we did! The appointment was Divine on the Sabbath. Beautiful and peaceful scenery. Educational exhibits inside. We watched the 1933 documentary of the Tillamook Burn and how the forest was regrown from the Lifegiver. $5 per adult suggested donation, cash only. Must visit!"
