"Pretty frustrating to get ghosted by a therapist's office. I reached out through psych today, stating that I had just experienced a recent trauma and was looking for support. Even though I mentioned my insurance in the request, they asked what my insurance was. I replied 2 hours later and never got a response. I even followed up TWICE and still got nothing. Incredibly unprofessional and disappointing, especially considering the field you are in."
"I wanna give a quick shout out to Jonathan L.- 2023 was an awful year for me personally, even compared to being a Covid nurse in 2020. With Jonathan I felt like there was a perfect balance between getting a chance to verbalize hurts that I had, just getting it out there, and yet also focusing on processing things and problem-solving. We did EMDR sometimes too and I liked how practical it was as a tool to practice deliberately leaning into hurt instead of mostly trying to avoid thinking about it or just telling myself that everything would turn out alright. Thankful for the time we had and will always wish the best for you"
"Fantastic office staff, efficient and conscientious and friendly. But after months of 'treatment', I am of the very strong opinion that neurofeedback as a therapeutic modality is push-button turnkey snake oil. In fact, the conditions I sought help for only worsened over the course of my many sessions, and the only explanation provided me was handwaving about how I must be some sort of outlier. This despite having been told upon intake and assessment that I was an excellent candidate for the treatment. All of which may well explain why, shortly after I walked away, my insurance company withdrew coverage from these practitioners entirely. While I can't speak to the other treatment modalities provided here, I can say with certainty that being stickered with electrodes and sat in front of digital videos accompanied by new age music healed nothing at all for me. And the serious well-designed peer-reviewed studies I've subsequently read on the subject confirm my experiences resoundingly, e.g. Marzbani et al. (2016) who conclude that neurofeedback is "expensive, time-consuming and its benefits are not long-lasting...current research does not support conclusive results about its efficacy." Which is not to say I haven't ultimately healed, but it has been entirely owing to active engagement with the practices of evidence-based treatment modalities, specifically Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), both of which work wonders in a surprisingly short time. Healing, it seems, is not something that can be paid for and passively consumed in a comfy recliner with a pleasant soundtrack. Rather, it requires real work and active practice. And also crucial to note, the owner's responses to critical reviews -- before being edited and then re-edited -- have verged upon unethical, especially for a provider of mental healthcare. I can only recommend steering well clear of this operation."
"Margaret Rust at The Path Center is a wonderfully patient and effective therapist, I feel so lucky to have found her! Through our work together, Margaret has helped me understand my full life experience so that I could find and process buried wounds at my own pace. Her guidance has allowed me to heal and find sustainable relief from my depression and anxiety, as well as other perks I didn't expect! Adding to a more positive mood and a greater sense of control, I've naturally started to exude more confidence, have cut back on bad habits without trying, and am finally feeling seen by others. I am so appreciative of Margaret and her positive impact on my life. Whether you are new to therapy or already know your goals, Margaret at The Path Center can help."
"The office staff is responsive and Julie has been great to work with! I really appreciate the flexibility of in person or virtual sessions."
