"Went in for a dog bite on my daughter. Wait times might be faster than going to salem hospital but I'd recommend going there and waiting the 6-7hrs to get back! Doctor came in to check the bite, sped talked through the checkup and acted offended that we asked why he didn't think that rabies was a possibility. Nurse came in and gave our daughter antibiotics which is great but also paired them with two Tylenol and 2 ibuprofen, both higher doses than she's taken before and they didn't ask us if this was okay. Just gave them to our under aged daughter and ran out of the room.. upon waiting for x-rays- the doctor came in with 1 xray picture and told our daughter "normal scan" and walked out with no further response. (The doctor and nurse didn't really interact with my wife and I and only talked to our under aged daughter. Conclusion: You might get back faster but they will RUSH YOU! And not ask you if it's okay to give medications to you or your children. Whether it's safe to take BOTH at the same time or not, they should have asked us first before giving it to her. Won't be coming back."

"We sought care for my mom here. My mom is terrified of hospitals due to past experiences and being treated poorly. The staff here have treated her with nothing but kindness. Hospitals are boring and the waits are far too long. Even though we spent about 2 hours in the ER, they were pretty quick (about 30min I would say) about doing a CT scan and getting an IV in her. The wait came from the lab results and also waiting for a bed to be open. Nurse Vern was very helpful and even wrote a chart for us to reference for the average levels she needed to be at. She was very accommodative, patient, and understanding to our needs. Thank you, Nurse Vern! The only reason why I won't give five stars is because the room is very small and awkwardly set up, I hope that the new building will have nicer and more spacious rooms. The setup right now makes it so you have to shuffle everything around almost every time someone comes in to take blood, check vitals, give medications, etc,. I am very glad we decided to go with Silverton Hospital. They are very patient and have been very understanding instead of playing a blame game on why things are the way they are, like some other hospitals around the area. I felt comfortable leaving my mom alone to go home and pack a bag and go get some food; had it been with anyone else I would've been worried. She is getting the care she needs and is in good hands. Don't hesitate to come here if you've had troubles with other hospitals!"

"Went to the ER today for chest pain. Was in waiting room more than 3 hours without being seen by a doctor. Next to me was a lady who waited nearly as long for a severed finger. After more than 3 hours, I approached the reception desk and asked if it was possible to have my IV (for labs) removed so that I could go home. The receptionist got “Nurse Christopher” who shoved a mask at me and told me to put it on, then asked if I no longer wanted to be seen. I said, “I don’t think so.” Then he went around the corner to get supplies and came back to remove my IV right there at the reception desk. He ripped off the tape like he was waxing someone’s legs, then wrapped the elastic tape so tight that my arm started losing circulation. When I got home I checked my notes and lab results and Nurse Christoper put in there that I “demanded that my IV be removed” and that I “was leaving now.” At no time did I demand anything or say that I was leaving now. What I said was that I wanted to go home. Very unprofessional and quite frankly dishonest! I won’t be returning to that hospital and I will be filing a formal complaint."

"I live in Salem, and I actually live really close to the Salem hospital, but the wait times there are absolutely insane. Drove to Silverton hospital to get checked out and from the time I left my house to the time I got home was less than 3 hours! The staff was super friendly and very caring and understanding. Even though I was feeling the worst pain of my life, they made my visit great. Thank you!"
