"I decided to go to the walk in clinic at Dunes Family Health Care against my better judgement. My insurance didn't cover the Reedsport area but it was going to save me time so I figured I'd just go. When I call to schedule my appt I ask, "how much is a visit without insurance?" I was told $75 dollars, ok great fine. I go to check in and again ask how much an out of pocket visit is with no insurance, again I am told $75. I confirm with the front desk that this is what I would owe so I pre pay and go on my way. Nowhere in my visit do I ever fill out any typical paperwork. No list of meds I'm taking, no family history, no medical conditions, nada. I thought this was kind of strange, you always fill this out. I see the doctor and am prescribed some meds for migraine/BP. After taking for a few days I'm feeling not great, short of breath. Come to find out the medication I am given is well known for bad interactions with asthma. I was never asked if I had asthma or any history. The blatant disregard for any questioning of this or any medical history is just beyond me. Definitely grounds for a malpractice suit but I shrug it off and I guess that's what I get for going against my better judgement on going here in the first place. About a month down the road I get a bill in the mail and I think hmm I shouldn't be getting a bill... I was told 75 dollars out of pocket... multiple times.... Sure enough I get a bill for 192 dollars for a "new patient fee." I did not establish care here, I visiting the walk in clinic. Again after being told many times it was 75 dollars with no insurance and that's what i would owe I am just furious. Between being prescribed meds that should have not have been prescribed and then getting another charge for being "a new patient." it is now my mission to educate everyone to NOT even consider coming here. Very scummy business practices and Brittany in the financial office basically said that's how it is deal with it. Never again, please do yourself a favor and go to Florence or North Bend to one of the walk in clinics there. You'll avoid a headache and maybe avoid doctors making you worse with their abhorrent practices."
"9/22/21 on going , it's sometimes hard to believe , After spending 8 days in a nearby hospital with a very very bad disease. i was told by the discharging nurse to contact my doctor for a checkup asap , 2 days later i went for an office visit, the person who took my vitals was very nice , 5 minutes later a lady walked in and just starred at me for maybe 20 seconds , she walked to the computer screen , and while typing , she said that she would only be working here for another week and that she had a different job to go to . i said ok ?? I asked her what her medical title was , she ignored me , later i found out Wornstaff Cyathia n.p. She asked me if i had any symptoms from the diseases i had just had , i told her that i was still coughing , my voice was horse i had sever fatigue and had just been given a prescription for oxygen, just to start with , She looked at me and said that's - not what i want to hear , i said then if those are not symptoms , then i am not medically qualified to answer your question , she made a very strange noise with her mouth typed some more then walked to and out the door while saying we are done . i check my vitals at least 3 times a day , the last 3 days at the hospital the staff said that i did not have a fever , the night ,,and morning before the office visit , my temp was 97.8 and 97.9 , i did not come to the appointment because of a fever or hypertension , i have suspicions about what she put in the computer , its been 20 days and i can not find her report , 9/17/21 -Update , called in to check up on when i should be coming in for my annual [ its been 13+ months ] the receptionist was - very - competent and strait forward , we made a date for the visit , Oct 30 th ? KCBY channel 11 sent a news team to the hospital to report on the numerous resignations of staff , doctors etc , see for yourselves Went in to appointment , with Wanda Newsome NP , she's very good , and a nice person Also spoke with Lori Wright - interim office manager - Very impressed with her professionalism , intelligence, she said that she would fix the error of some of my billing information not being transferred from their old computer system into their new system . 6 29 2020 Update . called 3 times to make an appointment for an ear infection , hard to believe the staff i spoke with were professionals . error after error , was told covid - 19 was the reason " things were anything but normal with their office " performance ?, ,receptionist accused me of being a no show for a recent appointment [ wasn't true ] etc . At least that's what their new system was showing her , I was somewhat disappointed with dr sargent at my last appointment , his disposition when i expressed some of my concerns and frustrations ,with the mess ups with front office staff and the new computer system was that i was culpable because i may not of had the proper attitude when attempting to reason with the staff , and correct their errors and that " we can refuse service to anyone just like a restaurant can " Its interesting that i found it necessary to go next door and use the hospital staff to help them update their billing information , they had it in their system for over 4 years and lost it - they said - , just one of their several failures . Have talked to at least 2 neighbors who have experienced unusual failures and frustrations with their office staff or systems also in the last several months . To turn back on the client as being part of their mess ups , shortcomings , is unethical in my view . I consider covering up , or gaslighting a colleagues or staff members poor or neglectful behavior at least unethical . Acting / posting as a shill to minimize critical information that is posted about a professional is counterproductive in the short and long run update 8/13 20 , ^ 6 weeks into their new system ? still being given excuses for performance and computer glitches/ errors They now have a second interim office manager in 6 weeks to try to fix the bugs , WOW"
"again. WORSE THAN DMV. THE BAD; Update, 02/26/21. Received a bill today for a service date of 08/13/20, some kind of insurance adjustment. The bill was 180.36, insurance paid only 180, why? Not sure yet but I have two insurance companies and I shouldn't be charged a thing. Why does it take six months to get the bill to me? Same thing happened in July of 2020 but it only took two months which when we called we were told we don't owe anything.. it was Medicare paid and blue shield didn't. Just spoke to lexi, a sweetheart, she said she would bill it on another system,, I commented you have two billing systems? She said actually they have three and the are trying to put everything into one. THE UGLY; Now I know why there are so many problems and mistakes, oops I forgot, they don't make mistakes that's why you get to keep bad stuff on your credit report and there is no grace or mercy for you.. Hope they don't send me to collections again.. I need to call in 30 days to see if blue cross paid. Great system. BILLING IS WORSE THAN DMV THE GOOD: FIRST OFF, let me say there isn't one Dr. Or NP that I don't like or trust. All the Dr. And NP both men and women are excellent and care about you and your health. I am lucky enough to have Dr. SARGENT as my Dr. He is excellent. My problem is and always has been billing. They can't get it straight, please read on. MORE BAD; I have had problems with their billing for years.. Trying to charge copay when none is due.. Taking three months of phone calls just to find out they were billing Oregon when I have kommifornia insurance.. Telling me not to pay the bill,, the state hasn't paid their part yet three invoices in a row and then on the fourth call saying its been taken care of which happened multiple times with both myself and my wife.. Then claiming they sent mail stating they were turning me into collections that I did nor receive and then doing so.. If I hadn't pulled a credit report I still wouldn't know OR HAVE PAID. So, I think I will take my business to Florence or Coos Bay. I get my inr done every month. I am due for a upper and lower GI and I think if they are going to treat me like I am a jerk that doesn't pay my bills and I always paid all of them before and after this one, and had a perfect record with high credit scores,, no bank ruptcy or Leins or repossessions, except for this one time, I think my thousands of dollars might get me better treatment from billing at another hospital. My wife needs a upper and lower GI also.. I think my last lower was 23,000.00. Katie or Katy is the second person not willing to admit they may have made a possible error or forgive mine, if I made one. I think I will contact BBB. This is not fair. They have changed their billing system twice in eight years because of problems they were having that I am aware of and I can't believe they are perfect without error or they won't write a letter to get mine removed over $347.00. Talk about bad business! So, my warning to you is pay super close attention to their billing that they are actually billing you for something you should be charged for and if you think you should get a bill and didn't, call them. They don't do certified mail and if it doesn't come back they consider it as if you received it and if they make a mistake, they will not admit it so stay on top of them. IT'S WORSE THAN DMV."
"If you want your medications refilled in a timely manner, or phone calls returned..go to another doctor. Doctor's are amazing, but support staff sucks! Getting a referral or a call in a timely manner is pretty much impossible at this office."

He was able to give me diagnosis I have been waiting on for over ten years, after a long time of doctors ignoring me. He is always respectful and understanding. I am living in North Bend and still travel there to continue being in his care. I am so glad to have found this place and a doctor who actually listens to me!"
