"My previous 2 Portland clinic doctors left the clinic, and I was unfortunate to meet dr. Chhibber. I came to establish new provider, as well as for back pain. I was looking for a referral to rheumatologist. My previous MD gave me few refills for tramadol. Tramadol is class IV controlled substance. This is the definition: Schedule IV drugs like tramadol have a medical purpose, a low potential for abuse and a low risk of dependence compared to other controlled substances. Before examining me or even really getting the history or my symptoms she starts asking me if i take tramadol regularly, i said no, bc i only take it when i have pain flair up. So she asks me what do i do with medication if i dont take it? Now i am confused and begining to feel slightly insulted by what she is implying, considering that i had a total of 4 fills of 7 day supply of tramadol in past 6 month (and none at all before). I tell her I take it when i am in pain but i dont take it chronically. She asks me about signing pain contracts, which is intended for chronic opioid users, which i am not, not to mention i never even asked her for pain medication, i only mentioned that i was intered in referral to rheumatologist and physical therapy. So basically i was treated like a junkie before physical exam or request for medications. The kicker is she tried to justify it as normal when i confronted her about it. But i am a clinical pharmacist, who, believe it or not, has met doctors before for both chronic and acute pain. And this kind of treatment is most definitely not normal."
