About the Business

Bauman Auditorium

Bauman Auditorium, located at 1009 East North Street in Newberg, Oregon, is one of the largest spaces on campus seating 1,119 people. It hosts chapel services, special lectures, and a variety of musical performances including band, choir, and orchestra concerts. Chapel is offered twice a week and is open to the entire community of students, staff, and faculty. Weekly chapel attendance is required for students, with over 200 hours of worship, Bible study, prayer, and service opportunities available throughout the year.

Named after William and Mary Bauman, longtime supporters of the university, the auditorium is renowned for its superior acoustics. It annually attracts the Oregon Symphony to Newberg for a concert, with the late James DePreist describing it as one of the finest music-making venues in the country.

In addition to hosting musical performances, Bauman Auditorium is a hub for student activities and events. Highlights include the music department's Christmas concert, the Lip Sync competition, and the Dating Game, all beloved traditions at George Fox University. To access the auditorium, visitors are advised to use the Bauman/Ross Center parking lot located off of Fulton Street.

"Great venue! The numbering on the seats is a little strange but good acoustics and fits a lot of people."

"We attended a Christmas concert here last Sunday. This is a beautiful facility. Since I have bad hearing, even with hearing aids, I appreciated the wonderful acoustics. It is very easy to get in and out of the building and parking is conveniently located right near some of the entryways."

"I attended a commencement ceremony at Bauman Auditorium yesterday, and this is a very nice facility, this facility is very well kept and I like the architecture to the building. It is one of the largest spaces on the George Fox University campus, it seats 1,119 people and hosts numerous band, choir, orchestra concerts and other events throughout the year. I recommend using the Bauman/Ross Center parking lots located off of Fulton Street, they are within walking distance to the entrance of the auditorium."

"Nice auditorium on George Fox University campus. Bathrooms could use some renovations. Aisle lights give off an annoying glare when houselights are dimmed. Acoustics are good."
