"I want to start and say that Edme was a great care giver. If she wasn’t I wouldn’t bring my child to her day after day. However, I feel like everyone needs to know my story. My now 8 month old baby was under Edme’s care for 1.5 month. She terminated the care and said we don’t trust her and that we made her feel uncomfortable. I felt like there was definitely a language barrier and I felt I was terribly misunderstood. I believe it all started when we found a mark on our baby after we got home. This is our second kid, so we sorta know the drill and I brought it to her attention. Accidents happen, I understand. But it wasn’t brought to our attention. I feel like after that it went downhill. She told me not to ring the door bell in the morning drop off because some kids may be sleeping. Due to covid, I’m usually waiting at the front door and I do not enter into her house. One afternoon around 4:30 pm she let me in to show me that some kids does afternoon quiet time. I thought I was being considerate and knocked instead of ringing door bell as well in the afternoon. There was a couple of time where I had to knock more than once and sometimes I would hear my baby cry. And i did tell her, it’s not a big deal. To me. She thinks I was spying (from what I understood, remember there is a language barrier). She says she saw me checking my baby walking away from the house. She has 2 dogs and we are allergic to dogs so I’m often pulling dog fur off the baby. But I never got the opportunity to explain this to her. Also I feel like being a responsible parent to a child that can’t tell me what is wrong with her, I am within my rights to check. At the end Edme told me she can continue to watch my child again. We are grateful for the offer, but ultimately we decided not to return. I was giving just slightly over a week to find daycare which we still haven’t found. And frankly, I can’t go through another emotional roller coaster she put me through again. We can’t take any chances, we need stability. Trust can take time. I feel like our trust was just forming. I really wished we could have sat down and talked it out and worked things out. I’m sorry this didn’t work out."
