About the Business

Blind Satyr

The Blind Satyr is a unique bar located at 2900 Southeast Cornelius Pass Road in Hillsboro, Oregon. This establishment welcomes humans, legendary creatures, and larpers, creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all.

Owned by John, the Blind Satyr began in his garage with just 4 bar stools and 6 beers on tap. Known for his Halloween and costume parties, John often dressed as a satyr, a mischievous woodland creature known for its love of games and laughter.

As a fan of Dungeons and Dragons and World of Warcraft, John's passion for gaming and community led him to expand his vision and open a local brewery. With an upgrade to 6 bar stools and now 8 beers and counting on tap, the Blind Satyr is the perfect space for larpers and beer enthusiasts alike.

The Blind Satyr is a testament to John's dedication and love for what he does, creating a space where everyone can come together to enjoy a good local brew. The Blind Satyr character symbolizes John's journey into starting this business blind, taking a leap of faith and creating a thriving community hub in the process.

"I almost wanted to keep this a secret to myself but I have to contribute and help out small businesses, this is probably the best little pub, always has great beer, if you like delicious beer don’t look elsewhere this is the place."

"If you're looking for a rave, look elsewhere. Want a cozy hole in the wall to play or talk D&D while having a loving crafted fermentation? It's all good. You have options. Oh, if you have peanut allergies, AVOID. They serve plentiful peanuts in bowls, and that can't be everyone's cuppa tea. Be cool, receive cool."

"The Blind Satyr is this awesome little garage pub with just a single bar and super friendly service. Beers are all made on site by the owner and they're all really simple ingredients well done. So you're getting a great brown or pale or amber or whatever he has been working on. The owner will teach you board games or have a chat with you and all the other patrons are chatting together too given the close quarters. Good times."

"Cool little brewery in a business park. He usually has 4-6 beers on tap all made by him right there on site. These beers are always solid! Pale Ale, Amber Ale, Brown Ale, and CDA (Cascadian Dark Ale) are the staples that you’ll almost always find available here. Crowlers to go also available."

"Really fun themed brewery. The owner is cool and fun and I'm thinking fairly often the bartender. The tap list is varied and solid offerings of his own beer with some guest taps."
