"In October of 2023 I made a reservation for 8 for Thanksgiving. This was at least 1 month ahead of the holiday. I was losing my Mom and I knew I would not be able to cook for a group of about 20. We arrive at our scheduled time of 2:00 pm and the hostess tries to sit us at the end of a table that seats about 14 in the banquet room. I believe her intent was to sit another group with us. I asked to be sat in the restaurant. She said it was full. She sat us at a round table for 8 in the banquet room. You would think that the tables would be dressed for the Thanksgiving holiday. No, they were not. They had a white table cloth on them with a centerpiece consisting of a salt and pepper shaker. $42.00 a plate. NO PLACE SETTINGS, NO WATER GLASSES. NO $5.00 MUM IN THE CENTER OF THE TABLE. DISGUSTING!! The food was horrible. Runny mashed potatoes, ham and turkey that was cold and hard. You couldn't cut it with the butter knife that we were given. About 2 weeks later I privately talked to Tami about it and her only comment was "We are just getting our feet on the ground" Apparently at my $400.00 expense. I was truly embarrassed, especially for Creekside. Charles was very attentive trying to make it up to us. What a colossal failure for Dannys on the Green at Creekside."

"We had a very unpleasant experience at the Creekside Golf Club Restaurant on New Year’s Eve and would like to share our experience in order to encourage their management to introduce simple changes to prevent those. On Thursday afternoon December 28, 2023 we called to make a reservation for our New Yea’s Eve dinner. It would be helpful to remember the name of the lady we spoke to, but we don’t. She told us there was only one time slot available, at 4 pm, and we took it. When the lady asked us for the name for reservation, we not only gave her our first and last name but also mentioned our member number. Sunday, December 31, 4 pm sharp we are at the club restaurant with our bells on. To our surprise, neither our name nor the member number were on the list. After couple minutes of trying to figure it out, their faces irritated, they gave us an option to have a quick dinner of one hour long. We had two guests from Portland who drove to Salem just for a dinner with us. Cornered by the realization that the alternative could turn into a nightmare, we chose to stay for a dinner. So, here we were sitting at table with the plates and meals flying on and off the table with the speed of light and there was nothing we could do about it. Barely the desert plates were taken off the table, we were asked to relocate to the bar (not a good option for a party with two teenagers) or to leave. We paid our $550 bill and left feeling nothing like anybody should feel at any place let alone at a high end restaurant on a holiday. To top it all off, there was not a single apology from anybody in the club neither at the beginning nor at the end of our visit. The magic of the New Year’s Eve was gone together with the customer service of one of the most elite country club restaurants in Salem. We hope the right person is reading this review and considers a confirmation email or text message for future dinner reservations on big holidays. Also, introducing at least one simple “SORRY” to the vocabulary of their employees in the situations like this, could be a great addition to the list of Creekside Golf Club restaurant’ s New Year’s resolutions of 2024."

"Our first time dining here, and we were impressed. The food was very good. Service was good, but it was busy tonight, and staff were hustling. Danny made his rounds and visited everyone, which we really like. Since most diners appeared to live in Creekside, it felt very homey and welcoming."

"This will most likely fall on deaf ears, but at the very least I want customers to be aware. There are some very good dishes on this menu and I had two of them. But there are some really really bad dishes on this menu as well. If you order them and have the experience that I had, they will not take it off your bill. Even if it's brought to their attention and it's unedible. I knew instantly what they did wrong with the garlic parmesan shoestring fries. They used too low of an oil temperature when they dropped the fries and so they just soaked up the oil. They were delivered to my table completely soggy with literally no crisp. I ate two fries before telling the server, then pushed a fork down on top to show her how much oil was inside the fry itself. She instantly removed them and said she was going to show the chef. $13 disgusting and it never left my bill. Fish tacos are absolute garbage. Tiny pieces of fish over battered so basically like over battered popcorn shrimp in your fish tacos. I definitely wasn't expecting this at a upscale Golf Club restaurant. I forced myself to eat one taco and I just couldn't do it anymore. Server took that plate away as well and told me she was going to give the chef feedback. $16 and that one did not leave my bill either. After that it's very difficult to praise them, but I ordered a ribeye steak and their seafood pasta and it was better than I expected after the first two dishes. Steak was perfectly cooked and the pasta was abundant with seafood. It was a great value. The kraft cocktail ordered was fair. This restaurant could be so much more. Maybe it is what it is by design. Beautiful space it is a shame."
