"After many calls to the Southern CA Acura recall office, we were forced to drive over the mountains to Eugene from Bend (128 miles) to have an Acura recall repaired on our high end MDX. Acura refused to pay or reimburse us for any time lost at work or have someone drive the vehicle out there. Our first indicator was that the tail light was not working and our local Honda dealership said they could not fix it because it was part of a recall. Left my home at 6:20 a.m. as I had an appointment appt in Eugene at 9am and they did not start until after 11:30. When I picked up the car, the serviceman (David Sanchez)walked me to the car and then I noticed the rear light was still not working. He said he saw it but it wasn't part of the recall, so he left it. WOW! Really?? If I didn't live so far, I would have waited for the fix. A call to me was not even attempted to authorize the fix. I would have gladly paid for a new tail light bulb that we now find out is not part of the recall. Now I'm driving back home in snow, through mountains with the light that I was told by one dealership was a recall problem, is not even fixed because this David guy didn't do his job!! What gets me is where is David's common sense?? Just call your clients and let them know what is not working, dude!!! Bad and sad experience to drive over the mountain, in snow over 120 miles for!"
