Clackamas Smiles Family Dental

"This happened a while ago, since then I have spoke to a few other Dentists and got their opinions on my experience. I must make this review. I held off for a long time. I feel like it's my duty to inform the people who visit Clackamas Smiles about their conflict management. Or lack there of. It started with me spending a lot of money at Clackamas Smiles on getting a couple cavities fixed, many cleanings, some chips and caries filled in/smoothed out. I got an ex ray of my jaw to see where my nerves were located for extracting my wisdom teeth. Anyway, I had fallen on some hard times financially and I couldn't afford to make an appointment. I called the receptionist and told her a few times that I couldn't afford an appointment and just wanted to see if I could pop in and ask the dentist a couple questions about my chipped teeth. I specified this and she said that it was okay to pop in to ask a couple questions. I wanted to know how much it would cost to fix the chipped teeth I had fixed by Suess. They had already chipped off a few months after getting filling over them. I didn't know why and if it was the dentists error or something else. Either way, I wanted to know how much it would be so I could save up to get it fixed. I don't know the logistics of just popping in and out to communicate a couple questions about chipped teeth. I was told it was okay by the resceptionist. I would have never popped in if it wasn't okay. So when I arrived, I was in shock by my treatment. I tried my best to speak up for myself about how I wasn't trying to get anything free and how there was some kind of miscommunication. Suess then proceeded to be extreamly EVIL and told me over and over that my teeth were going to fall out. I specificially remember him saying that. It felt very aggressive. I was so shocked that Suess couldn't manage his emotions and escalated the converstaion. His lack of empathy, lack of listening and lack of respectful communication skills had me speachless. He spoke over me whenever I tried to say anything. At some point he asked me if I wanted to cancel my file. I was so horrified that I just said yes. I never in my life had such a negative experince with a dentist. Suess has bad communication skills and terrible conflict managment. In conclusion, I guess don't call the rescpetionist to ask if it's okay to show up and ask a couple questions."

"Excellent dental office! I just had my first visit. They are incredibly thorough (noted things previous dentists never bothered to check or point out). The staff are incredibly kind and fun. Dr. Seuss is kind, professional and fun. The entire office is booming with “good vibes” the minute you walk in the door!"

"The Clackamas Smiles team is always friendly, inviting and ready to do what’s needed to take care of me. My wife worked as a dental assistant for 25 years, to include a stint with this team. She has since launched a new career, but when it came time for her to get some work done recently, she chose to drive a little further from home, because she knew that work would would be first rate. I followed and have truly had no regrets."
