"Strongly suggest to anyone that attempts to get your oil changed at this location to call first. More then once I have waisted my gas to drive into town to get the oil changed just to be told they don't have the oil to perform the job. Thought this was a pandemic issue, apparently not. Lincoln City can get the job done."

"This place has gone downhill fast. I’ve been there 3 times in the past few months only to have my business refused each time. First time: No greeting. I pull up into the bay as the guy is motioning for me to do so. Once I’m in, I release the hood latch. “Ok, pop your hood.” This is the first thing that is said to me by the way. I simply say that I already did. The guy looks put upon, then gets the hood up and a couple minutes go by. “Your coolant reservoir needs replaced, dude.” I say, “oh really? Ok, thanks for letting me know.” I wait for him to say more but he doesn’t, so I say, I’m just looking for a regular oil change today.” He says, “nope, not when you have a leak. We went to top off the coolant and you spilled all over my floor. You need to get that fixed first.” So I leave and get it fixed and come back a few days later. Even though they were a little rude I figure that maybe the guy was just having a bad day. I always give people the benefit of the doubt. Next time, there’s two employees and they tell me it looks like my radiator has a leak. I thank them for letting me know, but they say they can’t change the oil because of the radiator. It seems strange but whatever, I’m grateful that I now know I need to get my van looked at more closely. Went to Coleman’s down by the air museum and yup I needed a new radiator. So Coleman’s ordered one and replaced it good as new. I made sure to ask them if there were any leaks and told them about Valvoline refusing service. They laughed and tell me how much more business they’re getting lately because nobody over at Valvoline wants to work. Still, I want to give Valvoline the benefit of the doubt. I’ve been going there for years after all. So I head on over there for the third time. What do you know, they say they can’t change the oil because of a leak! I tell them everything that I’ve been through and ask what is leaking. The guy says, “well this time it looks like windshield washer fluid but I’m not 100% on what it is”. When I got home I checked for leaks but found none. Needless to say, I’m done with that company. Since then, I’ve warned many, many people in this town about this. A lot of people I talk to have had similar experiences. I was going to Portland anyway for an appointment so I stopped into a Jiffy Lube and they took care of it no problem. I asked them whether they also refuse oil changes over fluid leaks but no, they do the job anyway after informing the customer."

"Wow.. Wow.. Humanity at it's best. I went here to have my oil changed and others checked. The man came to my window and said, I could change the oil but it's like throwing $ in the wind. The car was spraying oil out, so they topped it off just under 2 qrts. How much do I owe you? Nothing he said just see a mechanic. I feel any other place would have done the oil change and let me drive off. Thank you so much for your kindness and caring for your neighbors."

"First, I have to say I've been getting my oil changed at Tillamook Valvoline Instant Oil Change for well over 20 years. I started back in the day when it was Oil Can Henry. I'm perfectly able to change my own oil. It's just been worth the extra expense to not have to roll around on the garage floor and find a way to ethically dispose of the used oil. I have several vehicles that I have the oil changed at Valvoline. The particular vehicle at issue here I've owned since 2018 and have had the oil changed multiple times without issue at around $120 for each oil change. A couple of years ago, in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, I went to get my oil changed. They apologized and told me they could not get the oil my car required due to supply chain issues. My car requires 5w-40. Not super exotic oil, but OK. The pandemic has really messed with the supply chain. I find the oil readily available on line. I place an order and a couple of days later it appears on my doorstep. I take my oil and a filter back to Valvoline. No problem. They change my oil using my supplies and charge me around $50. This has been the routine for the past few oil changes. Still worth it in my mind. Today I roll into Valvoline for an oil change. As I drive up I notice one of the two bays is empty. Great! I think. I'll be able to get right in. As I pull up to the empty bay I notice a couple employees off to the side, smoking. They look at each other somewhat begrudgingly. One of them takes a long drag off his cigarette and hands it to the other. He then proceeds to walk over to talk with me. "We don't work on Volkswagen's", he tells me. I was expecting this and was prepared as I had again brought my own supplies. "We still can't do it", he tells me. "Wait, what's changed?" I ask. "You've been able to use my supplies in the past." "Let me check with the manager," he says and heads back into the building. On his way he grabs his cigarette, takes another hit and grinds it out on the sidewalk. A few moments later he returns and confirms the manager says they are "unable" to change my oil. I ask to talk with the manager. The manager comes out to talk with me. He confirms that the "Big Boss" says they are unable to change the oil on... he lists off several European manufactures. "Even when I have everything necessary to complete the oil change?" "Yep," he replies. There is a big difference between "unable" and "unwilling." In a business like this I would think repeat business would be especially valuable. I find it astonishing that the "Big Boss," were he there, would have turned away good business, from a long term customer, while his employees appeared to have nothing better to do than smoke cigarettes. As time goes on I will forget what was said, but I will never forget how this made me feel. And that is that my business is not appreciated. Based on most of the reviews here this may have been an isolated incident. I hope so. Unfortunately, you have lost my business and I cannot recommend your services to anyone."

"Great place for an oil change! Upon my request they changed my cabin air filter and pulled the mouse nest out of the ac/heater duct work. Thank you"
