"!!BEWARE!! I am shocked at how highly rated this doctor is. (Makes me wonder if they get comments removed.) This doctor owns the birth center in the parking lot of the women’s hospital in Baton Rouge. At 40 weeks pregnant I got dropped at the birth center (after seeing them for 20 weeks!!) and they funneled me over to Dr. Dickerson. Still waiting for a refund for their services I never got. Right away, I knew I didn’t like him, because he immediately wanted to induce me and didn’t ask or care at all about my natural birth plan I had my whole pregnancy. But he made it VERY apparent he didn’t want me to sue him, which was his main concern from what I heard at my appointment. I also heard from other staff at the hospital who have dealt with him and the center that a lot of women get dropped and sent over to him… and I realized that this happens to many women who are late in pregnancy and once they are considered “high risk” at the BC Dr. Dickerson is pretty much the only doctor that will take them in for delivery because they are so far along. AKA The BC takes care of you most of your pregnancy until a single problem comes up and when it goes wrong Dr. Dickerson comes in to induce you and gets paid for a night of work. Luckily, if you aren’t as far along you have a better chance of getting rid of him. His staff at the hospital by the financial department tried to scare me and intimidate me into still using him as my doctor when I told him and them multiple times that I didn’t want him for anything other than a check up until I found another FEMALE doctor. WHICH THEY DIDNT KNOW I DID JUST THAT THE SAME DAY. He/They didn’t seem to understand that my fiancés dad is a doctor and found me a female doctor that took me in closer to where I live. They sat me down and made me sign a paper, which summed up that me and my baby were likely to die and or have complication unless I let him assess and induce me pretty much. ALSO, his staff surrounded me and discouraged me from finding a new doctor and had the audacity to say “good luck with that” after I signed a no induction paper in his office and said I was looking for a new doctor. Idk if it was his secretary or a nurse, but she was extremely rude and even brought another woman or manager to tell me that she went to school with one of the other doctors I was looking into and that she probably wouldn't take me in because “she doesn’t do stuff like that”. They neglected to tell me…. and I found out soon after…. that when you sign a no induction release that means that other doctors also will likely turn you down for induction. They literally tried to set me up for failure finding any other doctor, even though he encouraged me to look still at our first appointment. The BC and his office put me under so much psychological stress at 40 WEEKS PREGNANT that after I started dilating the day the BC dropped me my body had issues going into labor again. Luckily, when I visited my new doctor she checked me and I was 4 cm dilated and didn’t need to be induced! As soon I had a female doctor I went into labor naturally I had a 9lb 12 Oz baby without a c section which he told me was likely I would need one since he was so big… and was one of the main reasons I wanted to avoid induction. Do not use this man’s services or get caught in his BC funnel he has created. The BC has really good stats with deliveries and looks nice on the outside and inside… but that’s because of how many ppl they drop and send to this guy whenever there are issues. Super disappointed that they don’t have you meet with him when they know how likely you are to get dropped from their care and then they place you with this strange guy they claim is “holistic” when all he talked with me About were interventions I somehow avoided once he was out of the picture. I just don’t trust men in his line of work and made the best decision possible leaving his facilities. Also, be sure to tell your staff thanks for the good luck! IT WORKED!"

"Dr. Ryan Dickerson is absolutely amazing. I don't think I could possibly put into words what he means to our family. He has the very best bed side manner and personality. He truly listens and cares about his patients. The most kind and caring doctor I have ever had the pleasure of being a patient of. My entire pregnancy went smooth as well as my delivery. He was there for me every step of the way. I literally consider him family now. I will recommend Dr. Dickerson to every single woman in South Louisiana. He’s patient, he has the best bedside manner, he courteous, and very knowledgeable. He makes sure to go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable, while also educating patients. He’s the best doctor on this planet!"
