Quality Inn & Suites Slidell

"I checked in at approximately 9:46pm on January 3, 2024. I registered with two short hair lab service animals. I provided training certificates at check in. We checked out at 9:30am the very next morning. The manager proceeded to charge me $250.00 cleaning fee because they stated there was dog hair everywhere. I always place a blanket on top of the hotel comforter and my dogs are well groomed. I have been staying with choice hotels for over 15 years and have stayed multiple nights at other locations and have never had this happen. I feel ripped off and taken advantage of. Shame on this location. Update to your response.... as a walk in customer, I can assure you I was NOT told this was not a pet/service animal friendly hotel. I would not have stayed. I can assure you the ream did not require a deep clean and we always place a protective blanket on top of the hotel comforter. There is not reason to charge a $250.00 cleaning fee just because of dog hair. I will never stay at this location again, and will assure you I will let everyone in our communities across the country and with other disabled service animal owners to beware."

"This was a rest stop during my 1,700 mile road trip. The location is right off the freeway which is great but it's tucked away on some weird back street. I thought this made it more quiet which was nice. The desk staff was friendly and very helpful. The workout room had filtered water which tasted better than the stuffed tap water and was great to fill you water bottle. The only thing was the 'open 24 hours' workout room smelled terrible, like musty wet mildew. This deterred me from working out. It had a treadmill, an elliptical and a nautilus weight station. The location was close to Sam's Club for supplies and cheap gas and close enough to good restaurants. The room, unlike the fitness center smelled great when I walked in. It was clean and I didn't notice anything off about it. The only bad thing was the shower. I turned on hot water and the water was slightly rust colored. I know running hot water for a while does that sometime but still concerning. I turned the faucet to warm and the water looked better though the water had a funky smell. Just don't drink too much of it."

"This place was an ok stay. The biggest issue is they stopped putting food out at breakfast before 8:30 and if you don’t get here before 8 you won’t get any eggs or bacon or sausage. The breakfast is supposed to end at 9. There was no one at the front desk to talk to or working in the eating area. A few other guests were also upset. Plus when I checked in it was odd that the made a huge issue about no pets or smoking and not checking out in time you will pay 50 an hour for each hour after checkout. We don’t have any pets and we don’t smoke ect."

"This hotel was a disappointment. The beds were ok, but that is about it. I had to have them check me through 3 rooms before one was somewhat acceptable. The first one smelled like mold. The second one of heavy smoke. The one we stayed in smelled kind of bad was bearable. The floor, lamps, walls were all damp and wet. The cleanliness was ok. When we got up in the morning there was a smell of skunk in hallway and lobby. Breakfast had been canceled and all the staff had left except a maid. The police had shown up to "run" the front desk so the place didn't turn to chaos. I saw most of the hotel guests at the Circle K buying the breakfast they couldn't get at the hotel. This hotel is grimy and run poorly. We would have had a better stay at a motel 6. Don't book here if you don't have to."

"We were impressed with so many aspects of this hotel. First, the lady that checked us in on Saturday evening was polite and efficient. We requested an upstairs quiet room and it was perfect. The king bed and bedding were super comfortable. My wife is extremely picky and loved it. Note: we do bring our own pillows. Good AC and quiet. Heavy drape to block light. Chair and couch for sitting. Nice shower. Morning breakfast was exceptional for choices: 2 yogurt choices, eggs, sausage patties, biscuits and gravy, waffles, muffins, etc. We were impressed with Tonya, the desk attendant who also was serving breakfast and working an extended shift due to being short an employee and still pleasant about it! Amazing to have such great staff serving us at this hotel. We usually stay at Hamptons but this was such a surprise to have this kind of pleasant experience at a Quality Inn and at a good price!"
