"I’ve been seeing Dr. Aguilar for many many years now. Recommended my son go to him for dental work because I promised my son I would get his teeth fixed. I trusted Dr. Aguilar to do the work that he needed done. We Received a letter from Dr. Aguilar stating it was too Emotional to work on him anymore. The work wasn’t even finished . I find this very unprofessional of the doctor and disagree with his decision as a dentist. If you have any major problems with your teeth, please do not go to the dentist as it will be too emotionally disturbing for him. A recommendation to another dentist would’ve been nice, but that wasn’t even recommended. I am totally disappointed with my dentist as of today."

"if you’re coming here for sedation dentistry because of mental health related reasons do not bother. i am a psychiatrically disabled 20 year old woman, and when i met with them they were very kind. we talked about my severe anxiety and the options we had to work with. the second time i met with them they were incredibly unprofessional. the hygienists seemed bothered by my presence, she was frustrated that i was leaning away which is understandable but i also made it very clear that i have anxiety. she seemed annoyed until i started uncontrollably crying and panicking and she seemed apologetic. they had me meet with a different dentist than the one i met with the first time, but nobody informed me that he did not do sedation dentistry. i realized later they switched him to me to him because he did more of the cosmetic cases, to me it doesn’t matter what they look like as long as i’m not panicking, but nobody asked me if i would prefer him or not they just switched me. the next time was even more unprofessional. they prescribed me no medication even though i had asked for some and clearly panicked in the chair last time, the hygienist this time tried to x-ray me 7 times before she asked for help, then another 2-3 times and then again after i talked to the dentist. When i met with him (Jon D Celino) he acted very confused about why i’d feel scared if i wasn’t in pain. like if i had a lidocaine injection shouldn’t i be okay? clearly not showing any kind of understanding of like, being afraid of the dentist, or being mentally ill or even just anxious. i told him i panicked during the teeth cleaning and he agreed to write me a prescription. during all of this he asked to take a look and a student observer from tulane asked if she could look too and i appreciate people wanting to learn but i was obviously fighting back tears and i think it was just not the time. i then waited around another hour before he called me back to his office and then gave me a prescription. at this point i was very anxious and on edge and just wanted to leave so i left. when i went to fill my prescription i realized it was written to the wrong name. so overall completely unprofessional experience. they put up a really nice face with their cleanliness but they are not going to provide you with the care you want if you have dental anxiety or anything of the sort"
