"An Unfortunate cliche'. No dress code was posted anywhere outside or on the menu. It was about 11:25 and we approached the hostess stand only to be told we must have a reservation, after giving us a snooty head to toe smirk. There were plenty of visibly empty tables we could see, so we walked out. I made a reservation through open table on the sidewalk, to find out that there was plenty of availability at 12:45, so I reserved a table for 2. We returned to the hostess stand and a different hostess confirmed our reservation, but was visibly confused and she also gave us the head to toe snooty once-over. She wandered through the dining room only to return with who must have been some kind of manager who was grumbling and saying behind the computer screen, "I thought I had blocked that off." We waited for several more minutes while they were up & down stairs. Here comes a girl carrying an arm chair down the steps to seat us barely inside the restaurant next to a service station. We sat again for several minutes before anyone came to our table. I noticed Wealthy old white men in suit coats and oversized starched white collared shirts filled about every table, while every server was a person of color, except for the long blonde haired cocktail waitress who is all bubbly when delivering drinks to her ogling patrons. She also gave us that head to toe appalling look when we arrived to be seated. We just wanted to have a nice lunch so we stopped in from touring the French Quarter in our jeans & nice T shirts, It felt as though they purposely were attempting to make us feel uncomfortable. Two waitresses would hastily go by our table saying I'll be with you, and I can handle 'this' along with the other people." Every interaction the staff had with us held a demeaning tone. The manager in his Ill-tailored grey suit and $60 brown scuffed shoes tried to make nice very late on, after a large group left by quickly passing by our table and making some consoling comment. The sirloin steak burger was good. The Cuban sandwich tasted fine but was cold when it was delivered to the table. The fries were great. In the middle of lunch an entire group of ladies dressed in Christmas Costumes invaded the restaurant, made a lot of noise & commotion, hugging up on the wealthy white men and just as abruptly left to trudge down the street. When our waitress Felicia brought the final bill, she laid it on the table, did not make eye contact or say anything (like thank you) and went on. I left a 28% tip. Shame on you Rib Room for your pious front facing staff. Rude-judgemental-Incompetent, and what I find worse is they perpetuate the template of upper crust ruling society, while all the people of color are only there to serve them. PS: I am a 64 year old professionally employed Caucasian male."

"My husband and I were in New Orleans for our anniversary and made reservations at The Rib Room the first night and since we were staying at the Omni Hotel, it only made sense. The restaurant is aesthetically pleasing and has a very historical look which I happen to love, not to mention the food was fantastic! The entire staff was extremely professional, helpful, and on point during our entire visit. The manager actually stopped by our table to ensure that everything was going well. My husband and I had a really good conversation with him, and he made us feel right at home and appreciated. The Rib Room was a very enjoyable and delicious experience for us, and we will definitely be back!!"

"Amazing food paired with spectacular drinks. The location was wonderful, and they have taken great care to use the space to allow comfort as well as beauty. There was a live pianist while walking in playing perfectly."

"We began our culinary journey with the Fritos Mistos board, which was expertly cooked, though I felt it could've used a touch more salt and seasoning. I delved into the New Orleans Seafood Gumbo, a rich and authentic delight, while my wife opted for the Classic Rib Room Salad, elevated by a delicious house-made blue cheese dressing. The Slow Roasted Prime Rib was the star of the evening – tender, flavorful, and perfectly executed. To our pleasant surprise, our server presented us with a complimentary cake to celebrate our anniversary – a testament to their attention to detail, having noted it from my reservation. The service was impeccable from start to finish. Highly recommended for those seeking a special dining experience."

"A truly beautiful and classy restaurant with great decor and furnishings. I have eaten here many times and sometimes the food is good. The problem I find is it is inconsistent. Sometimes the food comes out hot and other times lukewarm. Sometimes the prime rib is good other times it can be very fatty. The service is friendly but sometimes slow and inattentive. The Rib Room is worth a try but for the price point I have been disappointed as often as pleased."
