"We dined here yesterday for a dear friend's birthday. I hadn't been there in years, and the place is still so beautiful. It would be the ideal restaurant for a dinner party or social gathering. I had the scallops appetizer and wish they'd been seared properly as they mostly weren't seared, but they were fresh and meaty. The honey butter and biscuits shaped like dragonflies were scrumptious. The bread could have been fresher, though. The ultimate delight, however, was the curried crawfish bisque with corn. It was absolutely superb, and all at the table agreed. After our meal we were presented a paper with dessert options, but at the top of the page there was an entree option, halibut, listed. My cousin remarked that she would have quickly ordered the halibut, but didn't know about it as the server obviously hadn't informed us of that daily special. The server gave an odd reply when questioned about how the paper's just printed that way listing the desserts and the entree option, instead of simply saying she'd forgotten to tell us about the daily special. All that said, it was a lovely atmosphere--but the pink Christmas trees do need to be removed as it's nearly March!--and we would definitely return, hoping halibut is on the menu and we are so informed."

"Beautiful grounds even though everything was dead from the freeze. I can't wait to go back in spring or summer. The mango crab cakes were probably the best crab cake I've ever had, and the black and blue shrimp and grits were not bad, a little pricey for shrimp and grits, but I did enjoy the meal."

"Beyond the immaculate grounds, majestic oaks and authentic architectural displays, the Carriage House boasts a fabulous menu. The signature bisque lived up to its exotic billing, eggplant Napoleon towered with fresh layers, and the A9 Wagyu filet was expertly prepared to delicate perfection. White chocolate bread pudding was a rich and balanced close to the meal. Superb service and an unmatched atmosphere of old Louisiana opulence make Carriage House restaurant a treasure for a special occasion or memorable excursion."

"Great food, service and atmosphere. 4 out of 5 stars due to three things… first, the wine list was sparse and needs to be upgraded, next they have nice steak knives, but the rest are light weight cheap flatware and they only had one server for the entire dining room. We were there early and received our food promptly, but the table next to us had to wait 30 minutes and then it came out wrong. It’s such a beautiful place. Just needs a little attention and upgrade."

"Great, slow-paced upscale restaurant! We came for a late lunch and we’re pleasantly surprised. Service was almost too slow, we felt we had to wave him down every so often to get his attention. A group of servers was hanging out in the back room so they weren’t really out and about like I would’ve expected. Food was fantastic, all the desserts were so yummy, my favorite was the strawberry shortcake! I couldn’t have the crab cake but my family gave it a 5/5 stars."
