"Had an inspection done for my AC. Claimed it was a leak and that they fixed it with coolant. It worked for nearly a month and then it stopped working once again (even though we told them it was actually the compressor, to which they totally disregarded) I tried to put coolant in my car and of course that wasn't the problem all along! Typical situation where they try to suck up all the money they can get and not even fix the problem, leaving you still with a broken car."

"On Friday, 01 March, I scheduled an appointment at this location for 9:00 am, Saturday, 09 March. In the appointment description, I described exactly what needed to be done, which is that my truck needed an oil pan gasket replacement. In my way of thinking, this would mean that by scheduling an appointment and describing the work needed, this would ensure that someone would be available, starting at 9 am, to complete the job, with no interruptions. Just as well, I'm aware (and was also told) this job should take no longer than 4-5 hours, as I do quite a bit of automotive work myself, I simply didn't have the equipment to complete this particular job. On Saturday, 09 March, I brought my truck to the location for the appointment. I checked in with the associate (I did not get their name), gave them my keys, and signed to authorize the work. He also, confirmed with a nod, the time estimate of 4-5 hours. Being that I live out of town, I had someone pick me up from the shop so that I wouldn't be waiting there for several hours, however, the person that picked me up had their own business to attend to that day, as well as all weekend. After not receiving any notifications of service starting or any calls from the shop, I decided to call the shop myself around 3:00 pm that afternoon to see if they had an update. Keep in mind, this is past the time at which the work was planned to be completed. Upon speaking with the associate (I did not get their name), I was informed that my truck "should be ready tomorrow", referring to Sunday, 10 March. I expressed that this is not what was planned, requested that they consult with the mechanic to see what could be done (going so far as to suggest that I would like everything put back as it was, and I would simply pick my truck up and have the work done at another time). The associate said they would do so and call me back. Knowing that the shop closes at 5 pm, I decided to call back again at 4:30 pm, since I had still not received any update/call from the associate. Upon speaking to what sounded like another associate, I was then informed that not only could my truck not be put back together for me to pick it up that day (Saturday), but that the work was now not going to be completed until Monday, 11 March, because the mechanic working on the truck is the "only one that can do the work" and he is not working on Sunday. Their reasoning for why it was taking so long is that my "truck does not come apart the way it's supposed to come apart, and the mechanic spent the majority of the day looking up diagrams to figure it out". My truck is a 2013 Ford F-150 King Ranch, all stock, nothing special. After confirming that there was indeed nothing they could do to remedy this situation, I reluctantly concluded my conversation with the associate. I understand that there are circumstances that arise, that are out of our control. However, I'm hoping that someone at PepBoys could possibly understand the sheer frustration with: Not receiving any updates regarding these circumstances (email/text message/otherwise). I am a very busy person, who lives out of town from school, work, and the PepBoys shop, who depends on a vehicle to fulfill my daily responsibilities. The apathy of the associates that acted like this is normal, and that I should just accept it. I am possibly going to miss a day of work due to this predicament, which I cannot afford. No consolation/remediation has been offered in this entire process, thus far. I have still not received any updates from the shop, aside from the calls that I initiated, despite my phone number and email address being on file. I have valuable/important belongings in my truck that I need, and have no way of retrieving them at the moment."

"As a loyal customer who has spent more than 7 grands in repair at this location, I'd avoid this place at all cost. This place used to be my to go for all of my repairs and maintenance but my last few drop-off for repair were nothing but nightmare. Every time I wait to pick up my cars, I always hear customers screaming at the reception. My recent experience at this Pep Boys location: Cars were dropped and were not worked on after three weeks, multiple times. I never get call backs, even when the service was completed and my fully-serviced car just sit there for days for no reason at all. I was called to pay and pick up the cars, however the issues were never worked on. When I brought up my dissatisfaction respectfully, I was told "You're not happy with our service yet you keep coming here." . Which I found extremely insulting as a regular customer here. Guess what? I am not coming back, Stan's Auto Center down the street is my new go to for car repairs now. The reason I gave this location 2 stars because my experience used to be excellent that recommend this place, until it turns in to a mess recently."

"Shout out to Pep Boys of Lafayette. I needed servicing on my vehicle including new tires and a wheel alignment. Aaron Broussard was there to assist me throughout the entire process. His customer service was unmatched, and made me feel at home. The pricing was more than reasonable, and their mechanic Pat did a great job on the services need. Highly recommend!!!"
