"I have been here several times and it’s always great. A Mexican style menu was advertised and we went to that also. The restaurant was packed and it was a big hit. It did present some challenges for the staff that wasn’t expected and wait times were longer than normal. John was apologetic over the extended waits and the food was excellent. It’s great to see a restaurant owner venture out of the normal and do something different for the community to try."

"We arrived 45 minutes prior to the all you could eat seafood buffet opened and they refused to starve any seafood from the menu. I assume that was an attempt to force you to pay for the buffet. I really wanted fish but did not want to wait 45 minutes so we ended up ordering Philly cheese steaks off the menu. This is a terrible policy that I did not appreciate after driving 45 minutes to try the fish."

"My wife and I have been to Big John's restaurant in Hornbeck, La. Several times and the food has always been good as they cook your order fresh when you order. They have an excellent sea food buffet on Friday nights with live music. A friendly family restaurant for the entire family."
