"On Tuesday, March 11, 2024 I Brought a 1995 Toyota Tercel to Big 5 Auto. With A/C issues. The Mechanic,Mike, asked several questions and informed me that due to the fact that the “sealed” system had been exposed to atmosphere it would need to be vacuumed down and recharged. Before being able to appropriately diagnose any faults in the system. I agreed to move forward with that step and Mike informed me he would do his best to identify the fault if the fault was not a “charge” or “pressure” issue. A short time later Mike stepped back in and explained that the system was “charged” to the appropriate pressure and all but one component was operating in normal ranges. Mikes professional opinion was that the A/C Amplifier was the culprit behind the A/C failure. Unfortunately, the part was not an easy find; however, I was able to find one in a local Junk yard and it corrected the problem. As far as I am concerned the team at Big 5 Auto are honest, knowledgeable, and considerate mechanics. I would recommend this repair shop to anyone that may have a mechanical issue that reach’s past their own tools and experience"

"Brought my own tire and got it mounted and rotated. They did a good job and my ride definitely drives better now. They also have a nice lobby to wait in. 100% would recommend going there"

"Let me start off this review by saying that I am a terrible car owner. I normally have someone in my life that I am able to push my car maintenance off on. Going to a mechanic gives me unreasonable anxiety. So I thought I needed an alignment, and someone to figure out a check engine light code when I took my car in. I work nearby so I took my car in early in the morning, told them what I thought I needed, explained that I worked close by so I was hoping to get my car taken care of while I was at work. The gentleman I spoke to told me it would be mid afternoon before they could look at it and again, I work close so no big deal. They call me (mid afternoon) to tell me the issues with my car. Which were pretty severe. I asked if these issues were something they could get taken care of before I got off, or at least close to it. They said they could and I approved the repairs. Here's where things went wrong ( and I know it's a 5 star review, something went wrong? What!?!!?). See, these guys had to get my parts picked up locally to get my car back on the road safe. They ended up getting the wrong parts. And here is where the 5 stars comes in. These people got the wrong parts, ended up having to spend quite a bit more time on my car than was required of them, and apologized to me every step of the way, when in reality... The extra time they needed was spent by me watching YouTube videos of what could have happened to me. And wow... Just wow. They could have very easily told me they couldn't get the parts and my car was parked until then. They could have given up. They could have done a ton of things , but instead they chose to take care of their patron.... And I will forever speak on their AMAZING customer service and UNBEATABLE craftsmanship. This is an auto shop that I will forever work with!"

"Took my car here 2months ago to get my ac fixed,I had to physically look for the part I needed cus there sources weren't able to get it. After that was replaced he found several other issues that I never saw on My ob2 scanner before dropping the car off. Over priced. Needed my interior lights to be fixed,was not even looked into. Did not call 1 single time to update me on my car. I had to myself every single time. After paying for the total, not even leaving big 5 lot found 8 out of 10 of my speakers no longer worked(they all worked perfectly fine before dropping it off). Noticed my check engine light was on for something that was not there before. Said I needed a new serpentine belt. All of my entire passenger side speakers didn't work only my driver door worked nor did my exterior lights headlights or signal blinkers. Also found a 20AMP fuse busted under the hood which he charged me for after saying they replaced some other fuses. Did not top my coolant off yet only to under to fill line. Also asked if I could pay $1400 on MY car that was not yet finished and was not in my possesion. Basically went in with 2 problems left with several other issues that he asked me to bring back to look on. Will not. Need better communication overall. Just got my car back today,with even more issues that he could not explain to me why. Also had to go buy my own coolant and windshield washer fluid that he drained. Just bad for business overall."
