"Visited on "free parking" day, and the park was not at all busy on this beautiful fall day. Trails seemed well-maintained. Bathrooms were clean. While not breathtaking, the views along the Sandy River are lovely. Water levels were pretty low; looked like it would be a nice place to swim and relax in warmer weather. Lots of nice picnic areas. Also group-use sites that are off-limits without a permit/reservation."

"We love this park as it’s close to Portland, you can always find a quiet place, and it’s lovely. The park closes early and you can get locked in, but the fresh air, easy trails, and river make for a nice day. Dogs aren’t allowed, but fires are, so enjoy!"

"I love this park! Definitely one of my favorite places to camp when I was a kid. Used to go camping here with my family for a week or so at a time…..nice little campsites, swimming holes, good spots to fish, it is always clean and the park ranger always keeps a good eye on everything and bathrooms are always clean and it’s well kept. Also extra life jackets for visitors is awesome! Definitely recommend this park!"

"Loved out stay! We tent camped for the weekend this July. There were 3 playgrounds we visit. But mostly kids loved diging in dirt in camping and walking trail between out sites. Lots of logs to climb and trees for hammocks. We were right by potty potties and the smelt pretty bad. Next time, we would be closer to flushing toilets if possible"

"Perfect place for family And friends during a hot summer afternoon. You can bring your boat and sail on the salmon River. They have eco friendly trash bags and life jackets available in case you forget yours. Very clean. Well patrolled by rangers. Lots of picnic spots, BBQ available, play area, picnic at the river bed etc."
