"The level of professionalism, communication, compassion and care that the ENTIRE staff and surgeons provide at MISCA is unmatched. While I am sure there are many great veterinary services in the Portland metro area, we have had difficulty finding good care and the right fit. When our fabulous new primary veterinarian at Mountainside Veterinary Hospital referred us to MISCA we were a little nervous. However, given our pup's unusual and rare condition, we needed experts to assess and treat him. Words cannot express how impressed we were with every detail of our pup's care that we witnessed. Given his condition, we new that things could become rather expensive--and while they have been over the last few months--Dr. Reeder (we call him the Dr. House of Veteriniary medicine) and Dr. Kuchenmeister (we call her the Mother Theresa of surgeons) provided VERY clear options, pricing, and helped us prioritize without any pressure. We always felt that they were respectful of the accruing costs and we never felt taken advantage of. There are so many examples I could share about the small but VERY significant gestures of kindness and compassion that the entire staff (front desk, veterinary assistants, veterinary technicians and the surgeon specialists) have provided. Our family cannot express how truly grateful we are (and our pup is) for MISCA. We love them and look forward to continuing care with them. Our pup is the BEST care."

"The doctors and staff at MISCA are simply amazing. They always make my dog feel so welcome and celebrated. The doctor is so patient with my questions and thoughtful with her recommendations. My dog had to have major surgery and while I was nervous for his health, I was always comforted to know that he was jn the best hands. I was even given a tour of the back, where the dogs stay pre and postop and the operating rooms. The whole place was spotless and the dog runs were full of comfy blankets. My dog was allowed to keep his toy with him for comfort right up until he was put under anesthesia. When I picked him up, he was clearly happy to be going home but was also so fond of the staff. On top of all of this, Dr. Kuchenmeister did an incredible job on his surgery. The sutures looked beautiful (as a human doc who sutures all of the time, I was very impressed). The postop recovery was incredibly quick. Whenever I had concerns during postop, I was able to send in a message and get an incredibly prompt response from his vet directly. If your dog needs surgery, can’t recommend this place enough!"

"This review is long overdue. MISCA was a last resort for my sweet, sweet girl, after a series of gut-wrenching consultations with an urgent care, a hospital and my own veterinarian. She fell sick very suddenly, and ultrasounds revealed a mass in a spot that appeared inoperable. MISCA squeezed her in for an emergency consultation. Dr. Kuchenmeister, Dr. Reeder and their team were so generous, kind and patient. The doctors explained what my options were and what the odds were for my Odyssey. They took the time to explain in detail what they saw on her ultrasounds, answer my questions, and they didn’t pressure me into any decisions. That night Dr. Kuchenmeister called, answered the same 100 questions I asked at my appointment. The next morning, they performed surgery on my girl. Unfortunately, what they found was worst case scenario; a belly full of cancer. The next day, I brought her home for one more day together, and I let her go. I was going to regret it for the rest of my life if I didn’t try to save her. MISCA was, besides my own vet, the only ones I felt really understood how much Odyssey meant to me. I felt the love and respect they had for her, even after knowing her for a few days. And while every day I just wish she was still here, I know that MISCA was the best bet we had, and I would hands down trust them any day with Odyssey’s two brothers.
