"The trail is open and easy to walk or bike. The tunnel is really neat. If you go out of the tunnel there are some ruins left over from some sort of building. There are some hills but nothing extreme. I recommend this hike to the tunnel. It was well worth the trip."
"Great trail to go on foot or on your bike. Plenty of old buildings scattered after you go thru the tunnel. Nice little creek runs thru it leading to the conemaugh River nearby. Trains go over the tunnel itself so if you're into that you may get lucky and see one."
"Awesome bike trail. This is where the steep part begins going towards the conemaugh dam. A little bit of hard work but well worth it. Even if you have to walk a bit it's a really nice ride"
"Transition point from more or less level bike trail to some serious uphill. The mural, tunnel, and a few other markers make this spot stand out. Great place to stop and take stock before continuing to hills (if headed east) or flat trail along the Conemaugh River if headed west. Be sure to spend some time admiring the murals at Elder Run tunnel before moving along."
"Definitely worth the hike! Found this beautiful spot along the West Penn Trail. There is an cool tunnel, with intricate stained glass details on the one end. Also the water is deep on the one side of the tunnel so it makes for a good swimming spot also."
