"Second time here in the past 5 years. My brother's name is on the Iraqi wall (PFC Kevin C Ott). Our dad passed away earlier this month and I wanted to go here to visit again, as I know it was a place he liked. It is the only memorial that I know of that has both the Gold Star Mother AND the Gold Star Father statues. As a Gold Star Sister, I want to thank you for this beautiful memorial to honor our lost, but not forgotten heroes! A must for this visit is to go in the building and look up at the ceiling of dog tags. Seeing that many hanging there is very powerful (unfortunately the building closed at 4:30 on this visit). The memorial is 24 hours, but evidently that building isn't....just for future reference if someone is planning a visit."
