"I just love this place. Views of majestic Mt. Hood, the lake, a rustic lodge, boat rentals, swimming, the smell of campfire, hiking around the lake, pinicing, checking out the lodge store for an ice cream bar. They offer cabin rentals, camp sites, and RV sites. Or you can wander up there for a day trip."

"We went on a Sunday morning in August, with plans to circle the lake and get something to eat afterward. By the entrance it was crowded with picnicking families. Once we got about 20 minutes out, the crowds died down and we were able to enjoy the views, cool air and native woodland flora. The area is clearly well maintained, though the elevated wood paths were in need of some love in a couple of spots. Mt. Hood is in view for a good portion of the hike. The lake is clear and was dotted with boaters and paddle boarders. We unfortunately came upon the occasional forgotten garment and (just once) fishing gear trash (we carried it out). The cafe is counter service and picnic tables. There is a limited menu, but the food was fine. I broke down and had coffee and it was well above drinkable. Best of all, service was thoughtful and friendly."

"Great campground. A-loop was great with quiet neighbors. The toilets up in the camp sites are well taken care of. Sites all have a good tent pad with fire rings. If you don't have a lake front spot, plan on getting to the day use areas EARLY; like 7am or earlier to get a good spot. Weekends are BUSY, so prepare yourself for a lot of people trying to find a space to hang out. Vault toilets down in the day use area get a little gross by mid day on the weekends. Close the damn seat/lid when you're done people!"

"Came to visit for the day. The lake is definitely worth a visit gorgeous views of mount hood. The clear bottom kayaks are not work it though. The bottoms are scratched and not clear making it hard to see through. They also do not track well making them difficult to paddle across the lake. I did not enjoy using them. There is great swimming at the lake though and we even found a salamander."

"Selfishly, I don't want to rate this place too high, as I'd love if it stayed a secret of sorts. But, the people there deserve the accolades! It's really just Oregon at it's finest and most beautiful. Boats to rent, trails to walk, cabins to stay in, campgrounds, etc. Is just an all around peaceful place to commune with the outdoors!"
