"Very old and poorly maintained. Smelly rooms, creaking floor, dirty bathtub, this building seriously needs renovation. For the entire period of our stay we kept hearing foot steps and other noises. Couldn't sleep peacefully and get enough rest between our hikes. I wouldn't recommend this place."
"Conveniently located for ferry travel or overnight stay. Fairly rough accommodations. Basic amenities in the room. Thankfully, people around me were fairly quiet as you can hear quite clearly people talking, water running etc from next door and above. Budget at the very least, rates should be lower."
"This is an older motel with very few amenities. The desk clerk was less than friendly when we checked in. There is no maid service during your stay (four nights for us) unless you request it. That was fine with us and if we had needed anything we could have asked for it. The bathroom smelled like mildew and the toilet didn't flush well. Our room must have been close to the laundry or something because it was ridiculously hot every time we came back. Thankfully they did have a small AC set up and a fan because there was not a window that could be opened. The location however is great. We could walk to the waterfront for dinner or to catch the ferry quite easily."
"I stayed at the Motel for one night. It was super easy to find and perfectly located next to the harbour so it was easy to get to the ferry terminal in the morning. Would I stay there for another night? Probably not. As a solo-traveling woman I didn’t feel safe during the night. The door is very thin and there’s no added stringlock on the door. So i could hear every sound from outside. Especially because it’s not possible to close the window because of the fan in the frame it made my bad feeling worse. Other than that, the room was clean and towels are provided. I’d love to have some water in the room because the tabwater was not drinkable. The lady at the front desk very nice!"
"I tend to disbelieve negative reviews whenever they're solely focused on the bad, but I truly have no good things to say about the Flagstone Motel. This is a minor complaint, but the guy at the front desk called us and provided us the wrong phone number to call back. Just a little weird. Now, the bathroom door got caught on the ground and had to be forced shut. The toilet seat was loose, and the sink didn't drain. The showerhead was missing. The curtains had been slashed (???). The window next to the entry door was unlocked and wide open so a fan could sit in it, directly above one of the beds. There was still time that hadn't been cleared from the microwave, and piles of dust under the bed, along with an item left by a previous guest. The people on the ground floor had removed their living chairs from their rooms and were just sitting on them outside, giving us strange looks whenever we passed by. Creepy. We ended up leaving after discovering that the door to our room had very obviously been kicked in. The jamb was completely splintered, so the deadbolt was useless. The strike plate's screws were falling out. The door itself was very cheap, flimsy wood- reminiscent of that of an interior door. The front desk called us once right after finding our key in the dropbox, but didn't leave a voicemail or anything to ask why we left. I'm assuming they know. I could've managed one night there if it hadn't been for the door. Completely unacceptable."
