"ive been going to pacific medical center for several years (+4) but am no longer going to be utilizing them. my primary doctor is alright but billing and other departments are terrible. i had to go to another department and they make you go to useless appointments to book with primary. after a 10 minute online chat which they initially billed as a 30 minute appointment charging nearly $300, youre billed $120. all i did was explain why i wanted some forms filled by primary, no new diagnosis. then the same diagnosis from previous months is talked about in a 20 minute office visit with primary, and youre billed nearly $300. what is the point of my primary and the other department being "in communication" if each visit is seen as standalone issues (theyre the same problem btw)? they didnt solve my health issues and i ultimately went outside pacific medical center to receive proper care. if you want to be milked and not even get the right care, feel free to come here...if appointments are even available. a wellcheck with primary has to be booked +5 months in advance. ridiculous billing, for profit is all they care about, and they make you go to multiple appointments to unlock a straightforward office visit for forms. ive been discussing the nature of these visits with billing and they offer payment plans, which is not the real issue - the problem is making people with real health complications go to useless appointments to reach the proper person to fill out forms, and then billing for the same issues at each appointment. having the ability to pay and paying for non-care is different and pacific medical center doesnt seemt to care about patients at all. im changing out my insurance plan to have more coverage but i moved my healthcare elsewhere. i do not recommend pacific medical center due to subpar level of care, overbilling, blocking appointments unless you meet with unnecessary doctors, and overall unavailability of appointments."
"I’ve been a patient here for about 6 years now. I would say overall, my experience has been good. My PCP retired earlier this year. I called about a month ago to set an appointment to get established with a new PCP, and was told the soonest I could get in for an apt was 3 months later, which is insane. But then to top it off, now a month later, I get a call saying that the doctor wont be in that day, and the soonest next available apt is more than a month later than the original scheduled apt. I asked the scheduler, if there would be anyone who would be able to assist me with prescription refills in the meantime, as I need to be seen every three months. I was told I could see any of the fill in doctors for that. So I schedule an appointment to see the next available doctor to simply fill a prescription. The next availability for just that is 2 months out! This is insane. I don’t know what is going on, but I have never experienced issues like this getting in to see a doctor here. Are they down multiple providers? What happens if I get sick and need to see a doctor? Should I just anticipate that I will need to visit an urgent care rather than my actual doctor’s office? Should I start looking for an entirely new doctor’s office for care? Im disappointed, and this situation doesn’t sit well with me at all."
"I’ve been having a collection of symptoms for months, asked numerous times if my medical records from NY, dating back 10 years, arrived. Nothing. Explained numerous times how they will show multiple tests done and how I’m concerned with a degenerative condition. Instead, I was prescribed a collection of anti-anxiety meds; my physical symptoms completely ignored. I asked numerous times for new tests that will most likely show a previous existing condition possibly worsened. Instead, i received a patronizing explanation of “science”. Well how’s this for science: next time you prescribe someone Zoloft, you might want to discuss their caffeine intake. And when they’re showing signs of serotonin syndrome 6 weeks later, you shouldn’t tell them to “stop taking the Zoloft” cold turkey. Honestly, you shouldn’t be prescribing Zoloft to anyone who simply mentions anxiety. Be better."
"To long of a wait in the room between the nurse and the doctor interactions (about 20 minutes each time) without an update. The nurse, who came back to release me for the visit, did not know I needed to draw blood during the same visit. Once I advised her of the situation, she then looked at her notes and proceeded to take me to the blood drawing room. The person who drew the blood did not know what she was doing either. Her efficiency of finding a blood vessel to draw the blood was less than adequate. It took her 4 different needle inserts to find the vessel to draw the blood. This is not acceptable! For some reason, she also wanted my credit card information, which I provided for her. The urine receptacle cabinet was full of other patients urine samples (8-9 cups full of urine). This can not be sanitary or safe. This office is chaotic and lacks communication between themselves and with the patient. They also need more experienced blood technician who knows what they are doing. This was the first time I've visited this center and I was very disappointed on how they operated."
"A sincere thanks to the staff and doctors at Pacific Medical Centers. I first visited to establish a primary care in late 2022. At that time I did not have insurance and they worked with me, charged me a lowered rate when I paid in cash and the doctor worked my prescription so I could have it for over 6 refills, making it so I didn't have to pay the fee to actually show up to the doctor's office. Finally, I moved to a different state and once again found myself uninsured. Even though I needed to go back to the doctor to get my script re-assigned, the doctor was able to squeeze out one more refill for me which is allowing me to stay medicated until I am able to re-establish insurance in my new home state. Always answers the phone quickly, always courteous, and ALWAYS LISTENS TO THEIR PATIENTS, which as many people know is not always the case. Thanks Dr Nielsin!"
