"Don't bother...asking questions to clarify what needs to be done is a major inconvenience for the scheduling department for an MRI. Horrible encounter with a very angry individual today just made me go elsewhere."

"Called multiple times to schedule. Was not able to schedule until my insurance authorized the imaging. Was told multiple times that as soon as the auth came through, someone would call me. Got a letter from my insurance and it had been approved for three weeks and no one from the scheduling department called me. Don't promise a level of service that you're not going to deliver. Just tell patients to call back once a week and let them know it's ok to call back because your systems are so opaque that you're never going to know when it's approved and have the staff to do the outreach. So much unnecessary waiting and delays in care."

"Disclosure I am an employee and a patient. I have been on medical leave for severe trauma for more than six months and had many diagnostic procedures here. Injury or illness, you are not at your best. Things are at their highest stress, you may be scared, confused, frustrated, in pain and exhausted. It seriously sucks to be a patient. Unfortunately medical systems everywhere are still stressed with low staff, unfilled positions, especially in office service positions. Friction with orders and communication between offices is typical. The person doing your test may not have ten-years experience, may have just moved here from the east coast, and only plans to stay in Portland three months. To get your best outcome, your own kindness helps pull the sled. You may need to be more proactive than you are used to, and do more for yourself to manage. Ask questions about what to do, who to call, how to nudge and push things along. This is a miserable and daunting task to confront when you are feeling terrible, but this is the state of our heavily strained system. However the point is quality medical care, that ultimately your problem gets figured out and you get better. For me I was very broken. I have sat in that waiting room many, many times. Laid for a number of uncomfortable, painful procedures. Yet I am slowly getting better, I believe I will recover. In part because I am aware of the severe challenges on the other side of the door and how I have a part a play to make the whole experience and outcome better."

"I have never had to deal with such an unprofessional deparent before. My DRs office sent over orders twice in 1 day for an urgent ultrasound for potential pregnancy loss. These guys are so slow to process orders. They had 1 appt left today and i made sure id be able to make it in time. Only to get here and have them give me 0 help figuring out where my orders were and why they hadnt come through. Now i have to drive to Salem tomorrow to have my ultrasound done there. Pushing a trip back and adding hundreds of dollars to my in hotel fees i wasnt expecting. There was no effert to help me at all. I'm already going through something horrible and this made it so much worse."

"Patient beware!!! I was in for a tube placement into my kidney 2 years, almost, ago. The person doing the procedure was kind at first but as they got started, I was telling them I could still feel it. It was so bad that someone in the room asked if he should stop. His response was that he just needed to get me through this and I wouldn't remember it in 5 minutes anyway. Well...I do remember. Think about all the people who are going through this ..no matter how much you scream and say to stop, or say No...they don't. I still wake up crying and have nightmares.It was absolutely the worst pain and suffering I experienced, and caution any other person going into this"
