"I love this place! I've been coming here since I was a young-ish kid, and I'm 25 now. Even though it ain't what it used to be (no more additional cake bakery and no EBT) it's still a Kent Des Moines classic. it's one of the few places that has withstood the test of time in the area. I mainly come for groceries and pan, but I've had their tacos once or twice and they're amazing! The man who usually is at the cash register is so kind and accommodating. He's helped me out on several occasions where maybe I had the wrong change, used a non working card, or even dropped a whole tray of bread. He's a very good worker and makes the place run smoothly, and even though I don't even know his name he's a familiar face and we have a nice customer-salesman relationship."

"This is a review for the Taqueria inside the Mexican grocery store. It’s kind of a hole in the wall type of vibe but the tacos are delicious. I don’t think they’re open everyday, but for sure on the weekends (they open at 11AM), so definitely stop by and either try the tacos there (there is seating) or get it Togo. They also have aguas frescas (drinks made from fresh fruit) that are somewhat sweet but you can taste a bit of pulp in the drink which is really nice."

"Overpriced, and very lackluster. Spent $15 on a carne asada torta—I’ve had better for half the portion, and price. Just because it’s a bigger “stale” bread you’re slapping a minimum amount of steak doesn’t justify the cost. There was more black beans than anything, and the salsa was mediocre."
