"This is a family-run business by Mauricio (contractor/foreman) and Eugenia (scheduling/bookkeeping), and it shows—in a good way. It’s a pleasure to work with them and their crew of extended family and colleagues; all very nice, polite and professional. Mauricio and his team refurbished my patio overhang (replaced dry-rotted plywood panels, replaced/relocated support beams, replaced/re-caulked trim, installed anchor bolts, repainted, replaced gutters); rebuilt my side gate (reseated posts, installed metal gate frame, replaced cedar planks); and refurbished my detached workshop (demo’d rotted T1-11 siding and trim, installed new plywood/barriers/siding (Hardieplank) and trim, painted siding/trim/garage door, replaced gutters). Everything turned out very well, looks great, and has lasted through the first winter with no issues—so far, so good! The Olveras made a good impression from the start, being the ONLY contractors (of over a half-dozen I contacted prior to hiring them) to return all calls/texts/emails, show up on time, and produce (very reasonable) estimates/bills/etc. promptly. It’s a shame these fundamentals of good customer service are now a rarity, but they’re alive and well with the Olveras. Their crews were all very hard-working, polite, and sensitive to neighborly concerns such as noise, which plants not to trample, where to put their trash, etc. They put in long hours, got the job done on time and budget, and even cleaned up after themselves. I really appreciated Mauricio’s willingness to discuss options and collaborate. He had great recommendations, but I also wanted some things done a certain way, which he accommodated where it made sense. While the contractor is the expert, it’s important to remember who the customer is, too. Even more importantly, when some things didn’t turn out perfectly—which they almost never do—the Olveras addressed all of my concerns and made them right, even when it cost them more time (on a Saturday!) and supplies. These critical core values—standing by your work, taking responsibility, and making sure the customer is happy with the product—seem the rarest of all these days, and it’s why I highly recommend the Olveras and would definitely hire them again!"
