Commuter Comforts is a cozy cafe and store located at 270 Olympic Drive Southeast in Bainbridge Island, Washington, United States. In addition to our coffee stand, we are excited to announce the opening of the Commuter Comforts Takeaway & Bar. This new addition will offer a full bar and a menu of fresh, in-house specialties for dine-in or takeaway, ranging from savory fried favorites to healthy options and even affogatos.

At Commuter Comforts, we believe that a great cup of coffee sets the tone for a wonderful day. Since 1992, we have been dedicated to serving the Bainbridge Island community one cup at a time. Located right outside the Bainbridge Ferry Terminal, we take pride in providing commuters with their daily coffee and food needs. Our goal is to fuel Bainbridge Islanders while nurturing the local community that has supported us for 28 years.

We are committed to operating in an environmentally friendly manner by using compostable packaging for our coffee and food products. By collecting compostable items, we can prevent 400 gallons of waste from ending up in landfills each week. Additionally, 90% of our vendors are local, with our coffee coming from Mukilteo on Whidbey Island and our baked goods sourced from the greater Bainbridge area.

"Seriously love these ladies that run the place. First, they are super, duper fast. They give Chick-fil-A a run for their money in speed... hopefully you understand the reference. Second, they are just so kind. It takes me over an hour just to get to the ferry and I have to get up at the crack of dawn, and sometimes before. So when I zombie walk to their window, it makes all the difference that they are genuine and helpful. Third, the lattes are creamy and the brioche sandwich is always warm with crispy bacon. Stopping at their kiosk makes my morning so much better. I'm always sad if I have to skip it due to crunch time. Thanks CC!!!"

"Lovely staff! Like a welcome committee to Bainbridge. Not many vegan pastry options but im not from here so maybe its not popular enough to stock~! I got a very tasty gluten free bobs oatmeal and they added warm soymilk. It was perfect! Fresh hot coffe and non-coffee latte options, perfect spot :-)"

"Great selection of food and drinks. The service is fast and friendly. The ham and cheese croissant is delicious. The perfectly warm buttered croissant just melts in your mouth. But, pass on the veggie burrito. My wife did not like it."
