Reviews
"Best park around with lake views, stunning sunsets, plenty of sun and shade, bathrooms, picnic tables, lake swimming, beach, play area for small ones, and park-sponsored activities."
"Beautiful state park with extensive, week maintained hiking trails that take you from hardwood forests to lakefront beach to open prairies. The observation tower is a great way to get a bird's eye view of the park (and a good workout). The beachfront is a popular destination for families on the weekends and a great place to sit and watch a sunset."
"This is an absolutely lovely park with everything. There is a tower to climb and and view the entire landscape for 30 miles in every direction or more. There are wonderful hiking trails, bird observation areas on boardwalks for the handicapped, biking trails kayak launches swimming beach and Campground half of which are electric. There are lots of picnic opportunities as well as reservable shelters. Adequate parking except on extremely busy days when sometimes they even limit Park capacity. A future boat launch for this unit is being constructed on the south end of the park shoreline."
"My daughter is choosing from New Orleans and wanted to take a hike where she could see wild flowers. Pike Lake state park has many trails. We parked at the beach, walked along the lake than along the bird watching trail and finally into the wooded area. The trails were clearly marked and were easy to follow. Some trails were very well maintained others not so much. All and all the scenery was beautiful and even saw a deer!"
