"A shopping center that is both pleasant and relaxing, with both casual and fancy restaurants. There are many places where you can get dessert. Many interesting stores. A ednjoyable stroll through the harbor with the docked sailboats and commercial fishing vessels."

"There are so many things to eat and do here it's one of the best day stops along the coast. There is always a ton of parking and a lot of spots are just a few hundred feet from the dunes and beach. The food is mostly seafood, but there are also some interesting places like a Cuban restaurant with live music, a fishcone place (ice cream and topping with fish waffles), and most of them have a great view of the harbor and plenty of patios. In one of the courtyards there is giant floor map at scale of the channel islands. The islands, by the way, are just across from the beach and visible even if its overcast. There are often street musicians and on weekends guy with a whole bunch of exotic birds. They have paddle boats with awnings in the shape or swans or dragons and kayaks to rent. You can charter just about any type if boat here. The ferry for the channel islands is here (they offer amazing sealife and perfect kayaking). There are even bikes to rent to drive around the marina."

"If you visit this place a thousand times, you'll still need to visit another thousand to possibly do all you can do shopping, kayaking, dining, boating, taking trips to Channel Islands... Absolutely a must visit if you are a local, from nearby cities, from outer states or from foreign countries. There are various restaurants, fast food, water activities, day and night time activities and events. Clean, safe, beautiful, memorable. Satisfying is an understatement."

"First time being here and it was a nice trip. 1. Ice cream shop: good flavor for the ice cream, cute little fish cookies. 2. Fried calamari from the fish place, no flavor but the sauce made it better. More of calamari sticks than anything, wouldn't order them again. 3. Rented a small boat to cruise around the harbor which was fun, lots of beautiful homes to see and even a sea lion."
