Barker and Sons Plumbing & Rooter

"My past experience with Barker and Sons has been great. However, this is my first experience having them do some major work and I was very disappointed. Some of the work was very well done (wall patching and stucco) while other things were very sloppy and embarrassingly bad (concrete work). There was a general lack of care, such as reinstalling poorly so it became a dangerous tripping hazard or pouring new concrete in the rain. There was even signs of dishonesty, like placing a cut root under a paver to prop it up and make it appear to be level with the others (until I stepped on it later). Even after contacting a manager, they returned and only fixed some of the issues. For these reasons this company has lost my trust and I cannot recommend them to anyone. Update 1/26 (see photos): plastic housing for laundry drain they added is not even close to being straight. Plus it is installed in a manner that the cover doesn’t attach. Apparently workers just laid it on top and hoped I wouldn’t notice (until it fell off). Update 3/12 (will post photos soon): After posting this 1 star review I was contacted by one of the managers (David Carpenter) and workers came back out and broke up the concrete and poured it again correctly. They also “fixed” the drain cover for the wall. All they did was screw in 2 self tapping screws. The housing is still crooked, but it’s hard to tell now at least unless you look at it closely. I’ve updated the review to 3 stars because they came back out and got things to a mostly acceptable level. However, considering the price I paid for the work being done, it should have been done right the first time. The shortcuts and mistakes they made led to extra hassle for my family and I. That is NOT 5 star service."

"Nate was kind and respectful but did absolutely nothing for me but take the $250 diagnostic fee from me when his leadership told him not to fix my problem… the same problem they had fixed three years prior… when I didn’t take the “ upsale “… I took his advice and just replaced the whole thing for about $300 more than it would’ve cost him to fix it for me. I also bought a filtration system that I’m having installed tomorrow a Halo 5 for $1400 the same one they were trying to sell to me for almost $6000 with installation. I would not recommend this company to my enemy. Nate was a good dude but his companies customer service leaves something to be desired."

"Wow an exceptional experience working with Barker & Sons. They were prompt to respond and scheduled the next day. I had a leaky hose bid and a a slow bathroom sink drain. Carlos was professional, knowledgeable, courteous, with excellent communication skills. He explained everything to me thoroughly. It was clear and transparent. Imagine that! The price was fair and reasonable, the work was done with expertise. I finally feel like I found a plumbing company that I can trust. I will call them again and I highly recommend. Thank you."

"BEST EXPERIENCE! All of our shower hardware (bath spout, dial, and shower head) needed to be replaced. I started the work myself then realized I was in a bit over my head as the work started going into the wall itself. My wife said Barker and Sons had good reviews. First contact was with Tina. She was incredibly friendly and patient with all of our questions. We had to coordinate a few things and told her we’d call back. Second contact was with Jonathan. He informed us that they could send a technician out immediately for a free evaluation but we asked if first thing in the AM worked and he said of course. We were assigned a technician and were provided a picture of Carlos via text message so we knew who was coming. Carlos greeted us with a friendly smile and a strong handshake which unfortunately is a rarity nowadays. I explained the situation and Carlos got right to work on his evaluation. Not only did Carlos take the time to explain to me what needed to be done but he gave me options. No pressure. No rush. We were given an extremely fair price and they even offer no an interest payment plan. Carlos did incredible work. Our shower looks brand new. He answered all of our questions. Just an exemplary experience from start to finish from this company. Thank you to the whole team and to Carlos. It was a pleasure having you in our home."
