Salmon Creek State Beach

"Loved it. The slow, twisty drive up Hwy 1 provides spectacular views, quaint towns roadside. Views above, where you park, or on the beach are amazing. Feels like you're on a movie set. Highly recommend. Note the walk down to the beach is a bit challenging, but very manageable for most."

"This is a wide beach with very few people, even on a beautiful day in mid-August. There was a lot of cool drift wood on the beach and some had been used to make small, informal shelters. You can look up and down the coast and see the fog in different areas blanketing the land. We enjoyed watching people surf. The water is very cold. Right below the parking lot, the Salmon Creek ends at the beach."
