North Island Beach Cottages

"So we stayed in unit 6. It was ok. I would rate a little lower but the proximity to the beach and easy access back and forth to and from the beach gets a higher rating. Here are the negatives 1st the couch is so extremely uncomfortable and old and so many stains. The dining room chairs also super stained. I’m not sure what some of the reviews mean by a fully stocked kitchen ours didn’t even have a cookie sheet. It did have plates and lots of glasses and silverware a pot and a skillet and knives. The beds are hard but i don’t mind a hard bed. The pillows are weird each one is different. So if you and supper picky about your pillows bring your own. If you are planning to stay for several days what is in your unit that is all that is provided so if you needed extra garbage bags or toilet paper you either wait for 4 days or buy your own. The walk to the beach from this unit is about 3-4 minutes. There is an outdoor shower to rinse off at each unit. The washer and dryer are a great bonus. And a full size fridge. Floors are tile all thru out so if you get cold bring socks or slippers. They do provide 6 beach towels and 6 camping chairs in this unit. There are grills right outside the unit. Also there is not much seating in the living room if the weather isn’t great or if you are just trying to chill there isn’t much seating. And there is only one bathroom maybe we are just spoiled cause we have multiple at home but it is difficult even with 4 people getting back from the beach and showers and such. It is a steal for the amount of money we pay. Over all for the value it’s a good place to stay."

"Staff was exceptional. Great place to stay. Free breakfast in the morning. The 2 bedroom cottage were large and clean. Nice size bathroom. Kitchen stocked with plates, glasses, utensils, etc. It's wonderful to walk out the back door right unto the beach. There were beach towels and beach chairs in the cottage."

"Amazing beach house, clean, comfy beds, nice full kitchen. Obviously easy walk to the beach. Extremely loud planes and helicopters as it's on base . But our kids loved watching them land and take off! Noise seemed to die down after 11ish. We will be back for sure!"

"This place is great! Located on the Naval Air Station North Island beach. Rooms are large and with 2 single beds in one room, and a queen in the other. Full bathroom with tub/ shower. Small but complete kitchen, including 4 burner stove and oven. Full size refrigerator. Patio with picnic table and sand shower. Tile floor. Very good quality overall. Only downside... the place is so popular, it is challenging to a reservation. Highly recommended if you have military benefits and like the beach."
