"Stay-Away Package. To the management at Ashland Springs Hotel. We viewed the Deluxe Queen view room online and made a reservation with the “Getaway Package” which included Movie tickets to the adjacent theater and dinner at their in house restaurant named Larks. The Room was not comparable to what we viewed and was difficult to move or walk in. You were unable to supply the Movie Tickets which was on our itinerary. The restaurant was unable to serve us even though it was not busy. Solution: Represent the room images accurately. Don't advertise Movie tickets. Don't sell Dining when unavailable. When prompting the hotel desk that there were 7 tables that were open for the last 75 minutes and we could not wait 3 hours to eat, she told us that there was no refunds of the 75 dollars prepaid for the dining. We were asking to eat, not a refund. We had to find another restaurant. We can think of a number of ways a fine hotel could have handled these situations for their guests. The problems were present and the problem solving was not."
"Elegant at first sight without being pretentious. Lobby was warm and inviting. We enjoyed coffee by the windows. Room was great given the age of the hotel. Great view and plenty of space. I’m not sure if it was inconvenient or refreshing to stay in a hotel room with no desk. I would rather work in one of the numerous sitting areas around the hotel. Water was always hot. Nice sized fridge for our local beverages and snacks. Our room faced the street (great sunrise views) but there was very little noise that could be heard. You can’t beat being able to walk to dinner, Lithia Park or the theaters."
"This is my second time staying here and both times were wonderful. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The staff is friendly and although it is an old hotel it is a “fireproof” hotel which means concrete, and concrete means quiet! The free breakfast is just a buffet but if you are choosing this hotel, you are probably someone who wants to eat at one of the great nearby restaurants anyway. And if you are in a rush it is fine."
"Great location. The room was fine although the bathroom fan is extremely noisy and we pulled the covers back to find a few lady bugs in the bed. Front desk said it's normal for them and they usually have them. Breakfast was not good :/"
"So charming! The walls, decor, linens, lamps, and furniture in the room and lobby is exquisite. Quite reasonably priced for a beautiful historic hotel full of character. The architectural details are wonderfully preserved. The garden is serene and the tables along the French doors to the garden are lovely. I suggest just the complementary tea and coffee, and not bother complementary breakfast. It is rather lousy. However, the areas where you can sit and drink coffee or eat the breakfast are beautiful. There are so many options for breakfast in walking distance. The robe in the room was wonderful. The room even had a little fridge. They offer a guest pass to a fitness place nearby, which is open 24/7. I wish they had a gift shop with more lovely items - there is a curio cabinet in the lobby with a few things and a display of stereograph correspondence cards."
