"There are not enough stars for this place. My dog came here from another daycare in the area and was completely traumatized and anxious because of the treatment of the other place. Every person at chachas is so loving and treats your dog like their own. They love my pup Maizie so well, and she’s a crazy hyper doggo. They are so good at identifying strengths of your dog and working with them on unfavorable habits. They helped my dog really work on her socialization, and still allow her to be her rough and tumble self. LOVE, and recommend."

"We took our dog here for a few rounds of daycare and one overnight boarding. The staff is friendly and their 24 hr dog cams are great. That's the only reason I'm giving 2 stars. After one daycare visit our dog came home with an injury to her ear after another dog attacked her. We didn't think much of it; it was a minor injury and dogs get rough sometimes. However, the very next daycare visit she left with a serious bite on her side from another dog attack. The staff treated it with ointment but when we picked her up we took her immediately to the vet because it was clear she needed stitches. We're upset Cha Chas didn't call us as soon as it happened so we could pick her up right away. At the very least they waived the daycare fee that day, but after two injuries back to back and a $250 vet bill we've decided we're better to take our business elsewhere."

"We started with Cha Cha’s in 2010, when I recused an American Bulldog from Front Street Animal Shelter. They have been reliable partners in his care from the beginning. They helped me understand his behavior when he was young. He would come home from Cha Cha’s exhausted which was great: A tired dog is a good dog. He was always excited when I would drop him off. Now that he’s 14 years old, he’s much more mellow and doesn't need to burn off his energy. His hips are stiff with arthritis. We go to Cha Chas for grooming. The staff welcome him like an old friend, and the cheerful groomers spiff him up gently. I'm grateful for Cha Cha’s and whole-heartedly recommend them."

"We weren't approved for boarding after my dogs multi-day assessment, which is totally understandable, but I felt inclined to share my experience as there are some fundamental business processes that were overlooked. Please do your due diligence, especially for a large breed pet, as we've never had any of these issues at any other boarding facilities (we've leveraged 3 others prior with zero problems). Our usual kennel is booked for an upcoming holiday weekend so I reached out by phone on a Monday (2 weeks prior to the holiday) seeing if Cha Cha's was accepting new clients. Stephanie was great on the phone and said they weren't accepting dogs over 40 lbs but she would ask for an exception. While she was working that route, I filled out the new client forms & shared my dogs full vet records via email and details of our requested stay, so it was all ready to go pending approval. My call was returned within 20 minutes with good news - exception granted, and we booked him for assessment that Thursday (fully commend & support assessments, it's great to make sure if it's a mutual fit and glad they have this in place). However... We show up at 730am on Thursday after not receiving any confirmation email or phone call and zero communications on what to bring with/expect - I walk in and literally say "the assessment is scheduled for today, right?!". I was charged $38 for a "day boarding" because they had limited assessment time availability so I had to drop him off to accommodate their 9am assessment window which conflicts with my workday... other places we've been have waived the first assessment day fee even if that is a full day of boarding, it's new client acquisition after all. The most concerning, however, was that they had our requested boarding dates scheduled for a week LATER than I had shared twice over the phone and via email - the receptionists (both of them) said their system reflected the weekend after. Dropped my dog off, didn't hear any updates so I called in around noon (~5 hours after). The receptionist said there were a few considerations, but overall that he was APPROVED for boarding the following weekend, which was great I went ahead and booked our non-refundable travel accommodations like a dummy... I go to pick my dog around 4pm, and they ask me to come in another day for a re-assessment with the kennel attendant or manager or someone, who was only in at 11am on Friday. Why they didn't communicate this or reach out to me sooner, I don't know. So I booked yet another assessment (again, no email confirmation or anything), and when I dropped my dog off I asked them to call me around noon with an update & to let me know when he was ready for pickup. Yet again, no call or updates -- I called in at 1230pm and they ultimately said his behavior (attempting to hump smaller dogs, despite being neutered) required full time supervision in the kennel and he wasn't approved to board. If you have a large breed dog, I would caution as it doesn't seem they are equipped with accommodations for anything over 40 lbs. I also raise an eyebrow that the kennel assistant wouldn't already be full time supervising any of the dogs staying with them. There's basic operational elements missing here, so this was a blessing in disguise it didn't work. Don't try to book here in a pinch and make sure you're doing your due diligence that this business makes sense for your pet, especially a large breed dog, as most others in the area offer separate accommodations for large vs small breeds and much better operational oversight. All of the staff I encountered was very kind, nothing but good things to say about the personnel. Now on to find a better suited backup daycare option!"

"I traveled to Sacramento for two days of training and took my dog here for doggy daycare. He loved it! Good hours, grooming on site, and have an excellent staff and set-up. My vet was able to email a vaccination record and I was able to bring sun screen for my dog. My dog was worn out from all the play, but very happy when we arrived the next morning. They took amazing care of Zeus! Thank you Cha Cha's staff."
