"Summary: They removed my dogs spleen, did not do the spay and the story does not add up. I brought my puppy here for a spay appointment this morning. They claim to do pre surgery med checks, but I did not see one take place, and was not informed of any problems prior to surgery. 3.5 hours after drop off I get a call from the vet informing me my dogs spleen is laid out on the operating table with a large cut that was causing internal bleeding. They claim the cut on her spleen was already there even though my dog had no signs of pain or internal bleeding prior to this. One staff member told me the spleen isn’t located anywhere near the incision site! Two other vets I have consulted with say this is false. It is possible to cut the spleen during a spay and any legitimate practice would have been able to identify an injured dog with internal bleeding during the med check before the surgery. This clinic removed my dogs spleen without the proper medical set up or pain management (vets words!) and did not end up doing the spay. The manager was very aggressive and displayed zero accountability for this negligent practice. My dog is left permanently without a spleen and still in need of the spay we initially went here for. This was a nightmare beware of this clinic."

"Friendly staff and quick process for a reasonable price. If I ever need to have a pet spayed again this will be my go to place!"

"I took my 3 cats today to get their vaccine boosters. One of them, Ari, is very afraid of strangers. He has never bitten anyone, and is declawed, but he lunges and hisses when other people try to handle him. Ari also does not handle sedation well, so that isn't a good alternative. Last year, at this same location, I was allowed to restrain Ari myself while the vet gave the vaccine. It was fast, easy, and over in about 20 seconds. This year, I had the misfortune of getting Dr. Kelley as my vet. She didn't speak to me or introduce herself; a tech took my cats to the back one at a time, then returns them when the vet is done and tells me how the exam/vaccination went. When it was Ari's turn, the tech told me that Dr. Kelley refused to allow me to restrain him, which was very frustrating, but I conceded and let her take Ari to the back for his shots. I have a carrier that has mesh lining on all sides, so you can simply vaccinate through the mesh without even removing him from the carrier, if necessary. This was done once before, and the girl who took him back said they would likely do it that way again. Instead, Ari was promptly returned, after only about a minute. Dr. Kelley had chosen not to vaccinate Ari at all because he was aggressive. I asked to speak with Dr. Kelley in person, and she came in after a few minutes with a chip on her shoulder, and immediately said "so, I'm not going to vaccinate Ari today..." she was rude, unhelpful, and arrogant, and she said she could lose her license if she allowed me to restrain my own cat and he bit me. This is complete nonsense, but that doesn't explain why she wouldn't just vaccinate him through the mesh while he was in the crate. We exchanged words and she told me to leave. The part that is most concerning is that Dr. Kelley apparently does not have the skill level or competency to handle giving a shot to a declawed cat, even through the mesh of a completely enclosed carrier. I've seen pet groomers that could wrangle an aggressive cat WITH claws for an entire grooming session.... it's stunning. The other staff members at Homeward bound are professional, helpful, and very friendly, but unfortunately, the quality of the vets ultimately determines the value of the business."

"I was apprehensive at first glance, but once I spoke with one of the employees, I was reassured and I knew our dog was in good hands. The surgery was affordable and the staff were friendly. The only issue we had was that we had paid for a cone for post surgery and they gave us one that was far too large for our dog. It ended up being a waste of money."
