"My daughter started her ballet practice with "mommy and me" classes and then went to toddler class. She fell in love with her teacher Miss. Lilith. Six months later, the owner, Sergey, kicked us out saying, " This is a performance school and I don't need a recreational student." It happened because my 3 y.o. daughter refused to take their additional Christmas performance class. I told the owner, that we love our ballet classes, and because their performance class starts right after the regular ballet, two-hour practice would be too much for a toddler. He said, "It is a performance school. You must decide now, regardless of age. If you can't decide, then my school is not for you." My daughter was the youngest in her class, but it didn't make any difference to him. He wanted us to pay for 2 classes regardless of anything. I said that we couldn't commit to the performance class and that if this was his requirement, then we would have to cancel our membership. "Consider it has been already canceled." were his exact words. He was chasing me to my car, saying that his school was the best and that I would regret my decision. He was pushy from day one. When we joined the school, he was pushing me to take classes 2-3 times a week, instead of one. Then he was pushing me to sign my daughter to his second school (gymnastics). Because my daughter and I liked her teacher, Miss Lilith, I was closing my eyes on his pushiness. But this time, he crossed all the boundaries. Replaying our confrontation, I am not sure if it's mentally safe for a child to go to a school under this type of management."

"I started going here at the recommendation of a friend. As an adult dancer, it's always been tough to find a decent studio close to home (Woodland Hills), as most of the best ones are based in Hollywood, Studio City, or Burbank. As much as I like Hama's or Edge, sometimes I don't want to drive out 20 miles for a class. At The Grand Academy of Ballet, they have several adult classes for all skill levels during the evening and weekend and their facilities are top notch. Sprung floors, surround sound system, and impeccable climate control make class that much better. They also have amazing teachers with tons of experience. I recently took class with Matisse, one of their newest additions to the staff, and she was great! The only downside is because the studio is a bit newer, their schedule is still finding its feet. However, I'm confident that with more regular students, they'll be able to nail down a regular schedule more is easily."

"The Grand Academy of Ballet is a fantastic studio with experienced teachers. They offer a variety of classes ranging from beginning to advanced level, teaching the Vaganova method. The studio is newly revamped; overall a perfect facility. This academy will allow your daughter to gain a great insight in ballet as well as dance while seeing an improving development. This academy is perfect for a child to establish ballet techniques, learn dance methods, stretching and flexibility, as well as new long lasting friendships with classmates."
