"I really cannot express how much we appreciate the relationship we have with Marine Humane. There is so much care and attention that is taken not only to find us potential rescue bunnies but to ensure that they are fully acclimated to their new environment here. We live in a remote area, so this means the team gets in the car and drives over 2-3 hrs to bring us the bunnies and then spends additional hours on property getting them situated. We have had some amazing experiences as well as our challenges and losses and each time Marine Humane is there. When we adopt from Marine Humane we know this is not just an exchange that is over once we have the animal. Marine Humane is there for the entire journey and that makes a huge difference in the lives and experience of these animals (and ours too). We are so grateful, with a special shout out to Suzanne Gollin, Paula, and Christine from The Small Animal Adoption team."

"This is regarding the conduct of the employees in the kennels where I volunteered for a few months. What a nightmare. I have volunteered at a number of shelters but was not prepared for what I saw. It was run like a dysfunctional family. The supervisor in the kennels was very controlling and she verbally abused the staff regularly. There was a lot of backbiting and scapegoating behavior among the kennel workers. One in particular took multiple smoking breaks and skipped her rounds, oh but she was friends with the supervisor so it was okay. An animal died under her care that she had brought home as the direct result of her bad decision making. Once she exploded into a rage at me for no reason She did this to the other employees as well. This kind of bullying behavior was somehow tolerated by the staff. I noticed a number of times that the animals' water hadn't been changed or refilled (one had a bloated dead mouse in it, so it had been days since it was changed) and pens and cages were dirty. One employee mistakenly euthanized an entire litter of kittens. The supervisor chewed her out so loud we all could hear it. Next thing you know, this employee was promoted to animal control officer! A lot of big talk about caring for the animals but all I saw was laziness, incompetence and those who cared or were qualified for the job were in the minority. I contacted the director of the facility regarding everything I witnessed but she just defended the supervisor. If you see anything you feel the need to report, I recommend contacting the board of directors."

"Friendly staff, good selection of training courses, and nice areas for animals to live while awaiting adoption. It's great to have such a nice shelter in our community."

"Compassionate caring officers/ workers who love animals and do everything for their wellbeing. My sister and I called for what looked like an homeless dog in terrible health condition and they were so helpful and communicated everything with us and assured that the dog would be taken care of. I called back to follow up and the officer answered all my questions and was so caring and kind."
