Seniors in the College of Letters & Science and College of Engineering who are declaring candidacy in 2024 can reserve their spot for the major ceremony starting April 1 through GOLD. The deadline to make a reservation for the 2024 Commencement is May 20. Details about dates, times, and locations for each ceremony can be found on the website. The ceremonies will be livestreamed for online viewing. Information about critical dates, parking, and other pertinent details for parents and guests of graduates is also available. Visitors can find directions to the UC Santa Barbara campus and designated Commencement parking. Please note that the event will be photographed and/or recorded, and by attending, you agree to have your likeness, image, voice, and appearance used for University business-related purposes. Temporary subscriptions to UCSBAlert expire at 9:00am the following day but can be canceled at any time by replying STOP. For alerts about incidents outside of Clery geography, the campus community is encouraged to sign up for Santa Barbara County Office of Emergency alerts. "Great celebration for years of hard work! Sitting on the upper lawn overlooking the ceremony is a good spot if you've got restless kids with you or you just want to stretch out and have a good vantage point of the whole event. To the left of the stage, right near the lagoon makes a good spot to get a photo of your graduate on stage shaking hands with the chancellor. Above the top of the lawn by the club building is where the grads enter the area - also a good photo spot + a place to smuggle in a few empty beach balls for the grads as they make their way down to their seats! Congrats class of 2018!"
