"Great place for a brunch! We ate on the patio on a beautiful sunny, cooler day but they had plenty of heat sources to make eating alfresco a perfect experience. We were impressed with the numerous selections on the menu and we were not disappointed. Recommend the Tiki Toast (which was delicious and not too sweet) and the Pomegranate Mimosa. Looking forward to going back :)"

"We gave this place a try today at about 11:30am. The patio is nice, but hadn't been cleaned up in a while (food and trash on the ground and multiple tables. There was a part to the patio heater leaned up against our table ( it was removed, as we were seated). Drinks took about 20-25 minutes to get to our table after our order was taken. My eggs were served with a huge hair on top, what no one checks the food before it comes out...? The replacement eggs were very runny and undercooked with clear whites mixed with the yolk (raw). Bacon was also very undercooked, even though, I asked for crispy bacon. Our waitress (as a matter of fact, all of the staff) was rude and not attentive. They didn't serve anything to the individual people at our table... They would just set it on the end of the table or hand it to the person at the head of the table and say pass it down. What...? Wait a minute.., I don't work here! Drinks (after asking multiple times over 20-25 minutes, after our orders were taken), food (hair and all), silverware/napkins (which we had to ask for 2x after half of our food was dropped on the table), to go box, literally everything that came out was piled at the end of the table or handed to one of us to distribute to our family. My wife did ask to speak with the manager, surely this was not how things should be done at The Broken Yolk, right? The "manager," seemingly not much of a leader, definitely didn't seem very concerned. After literally the worst service ever and half of my meal being inedible (after 2 attempts) the "manager" took $9.11 off of our $90+ tab with a very unconvincing/flippant apology. Our previous experiences at The Broken Yolk were mediocre, at best, but this was unacceptable. Definitely done with this place. I'm sorry, but you can't do it all wrong with little to no apology and expect return business... We will stick to the Old River Grill, where they have great service, good food and almost everyone who works there is smiley and polite."

"As a regular customer, I consistently notice something wrong with my food. I do genuinely enjoy coming here as I think the food tastes great. Although, earlier today we found hair embedded in the scrambled eggs. In my previous visit, the avocados were near black. Most of the time the service is phenomenal, there are times where service can be very slow and takes a while for drinks to be offered and/or is not very tentative. My family and I do enjoy coming here as mentioned before the food is great and so are the prices, but there are some downsides."

"I’ve been looking for a breakfast spot in Bakersfield that offers gluten free pancakes. I was super excited to give this place a try. The pancakes were thick & tasted just okay. I asked for blueberries to be mixed into the batter, but they only placed a few on top. My husband got the biscuits & gravy, which he enjoyed. I wouldn’t run back to this place for the g-free pancakes. I’d probably visit again to try something else though."

"Absolutely! Just love this place and they are kid friendly too. I had the steak and eggs and it was just knock your socks off. Amazing in our server! Jenna was absolutely perfect. Definitely a five star"
